Damp/Mold issue?

Hi All.
Having a sort out and moved the corner sofa away from the wall. Noticed black staining, which I presumed is likely mold due to poor ventilation as the sofa is hard up against the corner of 2 exterior walls.
Wiped away but appeared to be deeper than just sitting on the wall paper (hard stained) and is still there despite bleaching etc. When wiping I caught a bit of the wallpaper which peeled back and appears mold is also below the paper....
The wall with the main problem is usually cold, we are mid terrace but on the other side of that wall is a shared alleyway running between our houses.
Pictures below (note the wall under the paper was previously painted brown - it hasn’t turned brown!)
Thoughts? If this is likely more of a damp issue then will of course speak to a professional but where do I start with that - what professional do I seek help from?
Any ideas or guidance would be most appreciated.

Comments (13)I think your colors are restful so I would work with those and not pop a color. Maybe some interesting artwork that had some color in it, but I think you should go for a more elegant calm look. By the way, I like the chandelier you have with the fireplace. I think I would paint the lower part of your wall the same blue as is in the top part. Then I would add some black accents in glass and lamps. Comments (15)First before you think of putting grey on your walls take into account the light in your kitchen. Where do you live? Is it sunny most of the year? Is your sky grey 4 to 6 months of the year in the winter and spring? Grey can be very depressing when you are surrounded by it day after day. My vote is for white walls or a light color. Comments (17)It looks very pretty. I would look at pics of painted floors versus whitewashed and see which you prefer then people can hopefully help with methods. I've used chalk paint but not on a floor. Annie Sloan sell floor lacquer so you don't need to use the wax which is very time consuming to apply, the lacquer can be rollered on. The only thing I would say is that it does not adhere to I think varnish made in the 80's and I find the White paint coverage is poor although not an issue if white washing. Comments (9)Have you considered luxury vinyl planks? Waterproof, damp mop, easy to replace, and softer on your feet. I have tile in half of my house and wish I could replace it. It's hard on your feet, especially when you're standing for long periods of time in the kitchen. If it cracks, it's a pain to replace. You have to keep plenty of extra on hand for replacement because cracks are inevitable, either from something dropping on them or from settling. The flooring person I spoke with told me they're selling vinyl in even high end installations. He said they just installed 2300 square feet in a million dollar penthouse condo.
