Flooring Design Dilemma Hallways

Encaustic tiles or timber flooring??

Hi, need advice as to what floor finish to put along this hallway - was initially thinking encaustic tiles with border around the
side but hallway is narrow so not sure how this will look. Then spotted timber floor finishes here and on other websites and it looks really nice too. Hallway is L-shaped. Spiral stairs going right hand side. Any ideas anyone? Really need help here!!!

I think putting a border around tiles will make things seem smaller....

you could do tile on its own or timber flooring clull look really Well. is it possible to post a photo of the space?

Cheers for that,. Ya, think you could be right about the border and to be honest it wouldn’t be the same without it so that’s causing me to lean towards timber. I’m putting paneling half way up left hand side of the hallway.
Here’s photo of space from opposite angle. Ignore all the bits in the way!! There’s a larder going too left hand corner and coat cupboard on left inside the door.

Happy to help ! I'm only a short swim away in England !! I think if you want a truly opulent cream for the kitchen cabinets - I'd suggest you get a colour match for the range ! It looks a very creamy cream ! Think it could be stunning ! Then have slightly lighter walls and tiles to keep the room feeling light and airy ! If you have walnut stain for your worktop on your island , I'd suggest using that on your exposed legs if you go for the dipped paint look on the table and chairs ! Are you having the classic CC shaped island ?!?

Choose something that goes with the bedroom carpets. Personally I like I similar colour throughout the house for continuity. I would choose a neutral- perhaps a warm grey

I think it looks great so far. Many of the ads for claw foot tubs, and magazines, show them with encaustic/cement tile and plain white surround. Also, you did something creative and attractive with the tile layout. I love the nickel shine of your clawfoot legs too. If you can maybe get a corner shelf on one side of the wall, you'll have a place for soap, candle or bubble bath. And maybe hotel towel holder on another wall to get the height up. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

If it were for myself I would opt for wood..I see you are in the middle of a renovation,I am in the same position..so many decisions to make,it really is mind-boggling!
