Need Ideas for this eat-in kitchen
Comments (13)I would move the table to the window end of the room for view out and light while you eat . Perhaps turn it 90 degrees if that would work with the door opening. You may be able to seat 4. Make the rest of the right hand wall - about half of it a floor to ceiling wall of built in storage including the fridge. Suggest deep drawers for lower and double door pantry cupboards sitting above. The left hand wall in a long line of counter top with the cooker, sink, washing machine, lower cupboards or drawers. Tile backsplash along whole wall and two long open shelves plus art. Definitely replace the flooring - timber or even black and white checkerboard....See MoreLighter or darker to go with birch ply cabinets??
Comments (13)Yea I was looking at 'Petrol' colour which is a kind of Teal blue. However, it's for the entire ground floor so my plan was to go neutral and add colour instead on walls and with accessories, which will help when it comes to selling the house to renting it out as not everyone is crazy about bold pattern and colour. I was toying with sections too, but I'm not sure if it would look weird in an open plan space?...See Morekitchen refresh needed- new wall and cabinet paint
Comments (8)I painted my kitchen three years ago, and I love it. It's hard work and can take some weeks to do. You need to take doors off, remove the hinges and handles. Remember you need to prime and paint two coats on each side, so for a door that equates to six coats of paint and letting each coat dry. I used Mylands of London paint, I'm just hooked on this paint as the eggshell is dead flat with only 8 percent sheen, you wont get another paint any flatter. And if the paints good enough for Downtown Abbey, then it's good enough for us. I would hold back on painting wall tiles, as they are white and look fine , paint the cupboards first and see what it looks like. I choose Myalnds paint and had the colour mixed in a farrow and ball blue green. See photos. Good luck Yvonne...See MoreMixing kitchen cabinet styles
Comments (0)We are building an extension to our house to include a larger kitchen and open plan dining and living room. In our kitchen we are having a large island (3.5 metres long). On the back wall we will have tall kitchen cabinets. We love the look of flat island units but prefer shaker style for the tall units. Can you mix styles? Would anyone like to share their opinions on this?...See Moretooky58
