If it's a drop underneath that's about 1m then perhaps a lowered seating area might be better for keeping you out of the wind ? If you have a gravel or stone floor in that section - and enough space - then a kadai fire bowl in the middle will keep you cosy too ? Look out for second hand boat cushions for weather proof seating. Or make your own using foam and oilcloth . Then add floki rugs or thick throws or sheep /deer/reindeer hides to sit on ... A photo and some measurements might help ?!

We have been living here 2 years and desperately want to complete our home. We want to match a new extension onto the existing property. To the front on the left we want a single storey extension. This will have decking coming out of the patio doors , which will have a glass border and there will be sapce underneath for a an apartment. The idea is to wrap the decking to make our new entrance so that we can get rid of our ugly steps up to the house. Our question is how we match the look of the house with appropriate materials/glass/stone...? We are open to a very modern look and would appreciate to get some feedback. If anyone has done somthing similar we would love to see pictures.

Hi all, Looking for a few ideas on what to plant in different areas of a small garden. The first photo shows the front, the bed near the window gets a lot of sun in both winter and summer. I did plant wild flower seeds here last September but it was a bit late so only have the below. As it gets the sun I would like to plant flowers that would attract bees........any ideas? Also looking to plant 2 or 3 plants down the side of the fence........what would be recommendations? The bed by the wall doesn't really any sun during the winter and a bit in the summer. Was thinking the tree as there and adding a cherry blossom in the middle or maybe a bit closer to the gate. Good idea? The second photo shows the back, the plan was/is to put decking over half the grass and plants in the bed. What would you recommend for this bed? It gets no sunshine in winter but gets a lot from end of April to start of Sept. The third one shows another bed at the back that again only gets sunshine in the summer. Again what would be the recommendation here? And finally looking for somewhere in Ireland I can buy all of the recommendations online?? Loads of questions for any budding landscaper!! :-)

Our deck was built last October . It is pressure treated with a lattice privacy and a railing. We do get a lot of sun We'd like to put a sealer onto it "Olympic with Uv protection" to keep the natural look What kind of prep do I need to do? Do I need to use a deck cleaner or can I just lightly pressure wash the top before sealing?
