Need help with sofa choice for living room
Comments (37)Hi, thanks for your comment. I totally agree - I actually have a large art print on order (vertical/ portrait orientation) and that will be replacing the mirror when it arrives. From previous comments I received everyone seems have different opinions on sofa choices but I think I'm pretty happy with the L shape one I've gone with - it fits the space a lot better (I think!) than the 3 & 2 seaters I previously had. I contemplated going with a different lighter sofa colour but practicality won in the end!...See MoreNeed help with my living room please
Comments (21)Seeing it as an almost whole, I do think now that I like the soft, patterned curtain for the room. It could become overly severe, and that would be enough to stop that happening. Second thought, you don't need a side table for the sectional, but you do need something there to hold a lamp -- silver or glass would probably be best. The stand could be very plain, a box shape, even, in the same finish as the wood you already have. I liked these from wayfair.com -- though I might change the shades on a couple of them. Not that they're bad. The last one is an alternative approach if you fancy a bit of colour a-poppin'....See MoreNeed help with living room furniture choices
Comments (39)Latest update! Made a few changes to the book cabinet to the left of the fireplace. Added chrome legs to match the legs on the tv cabinet and added doors to the top half to try to make it look less cluttered. The lighting in the photos isn't great but hopefully you get the idea.Am quite pleased with the result. Am still trying to decide on art for over the fireplace, keep changing my mind but considering getting this canvas (see picture)....See MoreNeed help for living room!
Comments (5)Looking at the oak doors and baseboards, I'd say go for a warm white (no cream, but a bit tan or olive -ish). Neutrals will last longer too, regardless of the funiture and decoration you will use. If the dog is yours, I'd use my budget for a faux wood ceramic floor and worry less about furniture, replace the old stuff once you're lived in the house (hint: slip cover). And walls can be painted afterwards, so focus on the floor (and window treatments) instead of the furniture and start out with offwhite walls....See More- 8 years ago
