This deck creates an easy flow from the kitchen, outdoors to the deck then the patio, then the garden. Without a railing, it feels like a "raft" floating above the patio and lush greenery of this terraced yard. Made from locally sourced black locust wood and cedar, with steps of granite curb stones salvaged from a New Hampshire highway. The shelves were designed to create open screening from a neighbors yard and driveway and house a changing collection of small plants, artifacts, and stones.

Archadeck of Austin offers a choice of standard or premium pergolas, and this client selected the premium pergola, our most popular option. For our premium pergolas, we use 4×12″ beams, 6×6″ posts and 2×10″ boards for the rafters with 16” on center spacing. In contrast, our competition uses 2×8″ beams and posts and 2×8″ rafters that are 24” on center, resulting in a pergola that is less sturdy and provides less shade. The Archadeck of Austin premium pergola looks beefier, is stronger and will last longer than those built by our competition. Plus, our 16” on center spacing provides the optimum amount of shade on a hot Texas day. Photos courtesy Archadeck of Austin.

Harold Cross This spacious deck north of Des Moines in Ames features low-maintenance, Trex Transcend decking. Stairs wrap around the full front edge of the bayed deck, with a Belgard Urbana hardscaped landing easing the transition to the backyard. A cedar pergola sits over a portion of the deck and Belgard Tandem Wall columns and a planter box define the ares of the deck nicely. A Belgard Pizza Oven is the cooking centerpiece of this space. We integrated Belgard’s Tandem Wall stone into the pergola columns to provide more countertop space for this outdoor kitchen area. Lots of outdoor lighting on this space make it great for evening pizza parties.

Client had an existing deck and pergola off of the back of their home that was not properly built in the original construction. This caused sagging of some of the support beams and overall an unsafe structure. In order to give this a thicker and better look, we used 6X6 beams (instead of 4x4's) and properly bolted all members so that the structure did not move.

Beautiful new construction home at Key Biscayne Island to be designed inside and outside. The interiors are spectacular, but the outdoor was completely virgin and we wanted to make an oasis of entertaiment and relaxation. Here, some of the images for the outdoor design while we keep working on it. Interiors by Maite Granda

AZEK Deck's Island Oak, part of the Harvest Collection, was designed for exacting homeowners who want decking with rich, warm tones, traditional grain, and natural color variations. Its warm, mid-gray tones pair perfectly with White AZEK Trademark Rail (a Colonial profile), Cable Rail infill, and AZEK Lighting. This is a striking, low maintenance option for homeowners across the country.
