By opening up the existing ground floor, the kitchen becomes the heart of the home, anchored by a curved island with slatted timber detailing. It’s a space for cooking, gathering and conversation. An understated wall of vertical timber slats conceals ample storage and utility spaces, keeping the home clutter-free. Every detail ensures practicality while maintaining a calm and organized aesthetic.

A visually striking yet highly practical Schüller kitchen, this modern design embraces a refined minimalist aesthetic with clean architectural lines and carefully balanced materials. Finished in Siena Velvet Lacquer matt, the dark navy lay-on slab cabinetry is opened with grip ledges and push-open doors and fitted with integrated appliances for a sleek & monolithic appearance. The dark navy cabinetry is darkened further by the black sink, matching U-shaped tap, integrated oven and pendant lighting, while the palette is warmed by the integrated shelf lighting and wood textures, balancing the colour scheme for an overall clear, composed and compact appearance. A run of base and wall units were designed to add additional storage to this living room while also adding bench seating for the dining room table, without interrupting the minimalist aesthetic or subtracting from the wild Atlantic coastline.

For this busy family of three, creating a home that was both beautiful and functional was an absolute must. This project involved selecting flooring, paint colours, doors, lighting plan, and décor that seamlessly blend to enhance every corner of their space, from the open plan extension to designated kitchen, dining, entertainment, and relaxation areas. A particular highlight of our collaboration was designing a cosy and functional snuggle area that serves as a perfect retreat for the family, ideal for both quiet moments and lively gatherings. This space was carefully crafted to maximize comfort and visual appeal while accommodating the practical needs of a growing family, ensuring it remains both inviting and baby-proof. Richmond Road is a residential domestic side return extension to a Victorian terrace house in the heart of Montpelier. 3bd Architects designed the extension to the property to create an open-plan kitchen space to connect to the garden and allow plenty of natural light to flow into this space. 3bd's Services included concept design and building control drawings. Conker Construction have done an amazing job with the construction and the detailing.

Spires Interiors recently completed this large-scale renovation project at a home in Fingringhoe, near Colchester. The project encompassed a kitchen and utility room renovation, as well as a large display and media unit for the adjoining living space. Initially, the customer was contemplating replacing their existing kitchen at the front of the property as plans to do an extension hadn’t worked out within their budget. They asked to see options for both the existing space and the potential they could achieve with their extension plan. Once they saw the extension they fell in love and didn’t want to compromise on the space they could achieve. Our design team worked very closely with the customer to achieve their dream kitchen that was once a pipedream. As is often the case, the couple had different tastes when it came to the style they wanted to achieve and each used the kitchen differently. Working closely with them we learned what they wanted and gave them the middle ground on both design and functionality. With the aim of striking a balance between a traditional and modern kitchen aesthetic, we used a simple shaker-style kitchen door to achieve a design that is contemporary, with traditional features that won't date. Modernising typical traditional elements like cornice, dresser units, and solid oak elements means we have achieved a room that is timeless. Having shorter wall units above the sink in the kitchen allows for the room to feel more open and spacious whilst providing ample storage space. The dresser unit along the side wall also offers clever storage for daily items as well as space for the display items and glasses. The appliances were key for the customer as they are avid cooks. With a reputation for excellence, they opted for a Miele oven, microwave combination, and coffee machine in the cube of appliances, as well as a Miele induction hob. The hob also features a hidden Novy extractor, which is both quiet and efficient, as well as a Fisher & Paykal American fridge freezer as the space and functionality is second to none. In the adjoining utility room, the customers had an “awkward” little space that they really wanted to utilise. Here we installed a bank of shallow larder units for optimum storage of food items to create a pantry of sorts. Though shallow there is still plenty of room for pasta, tins, and bulkier items that would take up too much space in the kitchen. They also wanted a sink big enough to clean their puppy in after long and muddy walks around the area. After investing in the space and creating such a stunning design, they felt the adjoining reception space could potentially let the room down, and therefore we designed a bespoke media unit, manufactured by Callerton, the same manufacturer that supplied kitchen and utility room units - this would ensure fluidity in finish and design between all three rooms. The drawers mirror the shaker style in the kitchen whilst the open-shelf unit is painted in the same finish as the flat doors with an oak worktop to reflect the island breakfast bar. This space really has become a social hub for the house, creating a stunning open-plan cooking, dining and living space.

A large, open plan family style kitchen with flat, matt charcoal cabinetry and u-channel handles. The worktops and splash back are bespoke surfaces, hand crafted using micro-cement with liquid metal resin detailing to create the stunning visual effect of natural, tactile veining throughout. This re-surfacing technique is more than decorative. Micro-cement's wear-resistant and water proof properties, combined with the visual versatility and cost-effective application, made the use of the material an obvious solution to many design elements of this project. Each vein was carefully crafted with the artistic eye of an expert, with stunning attention to detail.

The client had a niche going in to the wall so to make the most of the space available we designed this stunning drinks cabinet. The touch latch design makes the cabinet flow seamlessly with the wall, and the LED lighting makes the bespoke piece pop in the room. This renovation created a kitchen that reflects the family’s style and complements their home. Designed with family life in mind, it features a social layout with seating at the island, making it a welcoming space for cooking, gathering, and spending time together.

L’appartement, dont la configuration structurelle est établie en L, présentait initialement une répartition des espaces alambiquée. Afin de répondre à la demande des nouveaux propriétaires qui souhaitaient créer un pied à terre fonctionnel et harmonieux, une redistribution complète des volumes fut nécessaire, en passant par l’ouverture d’un mur porteur et une nouvelle distribution des pièces. De cette reconfiguration complète résulte une pièce à vivre de plus de 20m2 avec une cuisine ouverte épurée, un espace dînatoire et un salon accueillant, où s’intègre une bibliothèque composée autour de la cheminée existante. La salle d’eau prend place au centre de l’appartement, volume autour duquel s’articule en arrière plan une chambre « cocon » mansardée. Un écrin sous les toits, pour une rénovation complète réalisée par l’équipe d’Ameo Concept.
