Relax with a cup of morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the nearby covered patio, which can be accessed from both the living room and the master bedroom. Upstairs, an additional 900 square feet includes two 11 by 14-foot upper bedrooms with bath and closet and a an approximately 700 square foot guest suite over the garage that includes a relaxing sitting area, galley kitchen and bath, perfect for guests or in-laws.
Ross Land StudioIn the front yard, a large multi-season garden creates a buffer from the neighboring property. Spring bulbs start the garden off in March, followed by salvia and echinacea in summer. Asters burst with blue and purple in fall, and evergreen trees and red-twig dogwoods bring the garden through the winter in a glory of green and red.

The pool was remodeled by integrating a new custom spa with water feature, updating all of the materials & finishes around the pool, and changing the entry into the pool with a new baja shelf. A large California room patio cover integrates a fireplace, outdoor kitchen with dining area, and lounge area for conversating, relaxing, and watching TV. A putting green was incorporated on the side yard as a bonus feature for increased entertainment.

This was an existing outdoor kitchen and pizza over the homeowners installed about 15 years ago. The pizza over was leaking and needed a chimney extension. We also enclosed the top of the pergola so it was still usable when raining.

The Kalamazoo Hybrid Fire Built-in Grill features three seriously powerful gas burners totaling 82,500 BTUs and a generous 726 square inches of primary grilling surface. CHRISTOPHER STROM ARCHITECTSEye-Land: Named for the expansive white oak savanna views, this beautiful 5,200-square foot family home offers seamless indoor/outdoor living with five bedrooms and three baths, and space for two more bedrooms and a bathroom.
The site posed unique design challenges. The home was ultimately nestled into the hillside, instead of placed on top of the hill, so that it didn’t dominate the dramatic landscape. The openness of the savanna exposes all sides of the house to the public, which required creative use of form and materials. The home’s one-and-a-half story form pays tribute to the site’s farming history. The simplicity of the gable roof puts a modern edge on a traditional form, and the exterior color palette is limited to black tones to strike a stunning contrast to the golden savanna.
The main public spaces have oversized south-facing windows and easy access to an outdoor terrace with views overlooking a protected wetland. The connection to the land is further strengthened by strategically placed windows that allow for views from the kitchen to the driveway and auto court to see visitors approach and children play. There is a formal living room adjacent to the front entry for entertaining and a separate family room that opens to the kitchen for immediate family to gather before and after mealtime.
