A bubbling basalt stone fountain creates a soothing audible backdrop and is much loved by the birds and wildlife that flock to this garden which is a certified wildlife habitat.

Landscape design enhances and enriches natural surroundings. Custom stone work, patios, stairs, walkways, driveways, plantings, pools, and entertaining areas are functionally designed to enhance and enrich. Hardscape details are compatible with both traditional and contemporary features.

Vegepods and a climbing trellis planted with cucumbers and Passion fruit provide a place for a vegetable garden.

High shade provides a perfect environment for Alum Root in this Novato front yard. Its frothy blooms charm visitors in spring and early summer. This is a really good plant to put under California Live Oaks as they need very little summer water. Far tougher than it looks, and easy maintenance.

Lawn Removal & photo by Verne Pershing
"Our backyard needed a do-over. It was all lawn, needing so much water that when the drought hit we had to stop watering it (Sadly the yard looked about the same). Verne and his team designed a beautiful garden full of California native plants. They listened to our thoughts and ideas, and creatively and professionally put together an amazing plan. They were thoughtful about the ecology of the habitat, both plant and wildlife, as well as our budget. They have a full service of skills. Beyond landscaping, they have built a fenced in vegetable garden and installed sheds with concrete pads. I think my yard looks better then some of the worlds famous gardens. Large grasses mix well with New Zealand Flax. The soft silvery green of the high Miscanthus grass and Westringea shrubs contrasts beautifully with the deep purple foliage of the Flax and the Large Purple Plum tree.

Tulips and pansies provide early spring color to raised bed containers constructed with M-Brace brackets for added interest. In the summer, the owner plants two of the beds with vegetables (all of the sun on the property is in the front yard).
