This wallpaper, from Cole and Sons, is from an archival design by Piero Fornasetti. The wife fell in love with the print immediately as she has a penchant for women depicted in art. It makes her smile when she wakes up in the morning. The colors enhance the grain of the Carrara marble that runs throughout the bathroom. Photo Credit - Tom Crane Photography

This master bath offers a place in which to escape from the everyday. The Whirlpool tub and the open, spa shower provide relaxation and create a private retreat. The shower features Island Stone pebbles on the floor and in the decorative border and naturally clefted slate tile on the walls. At the far edge of the shower, a hotel shelf with hanger and hook options provides a great and dry way to store towels. The Whirlpool tub features Kohler Pinstripe Collection fixtures, and the tub deck is topped with Pietra Cardosa limestone and covered in the same slate tile that is used on the shower walls. The "his and hers" vanity features cherry, shaker style cabinetry with espresso finish and and a Pietra Cardosa limestone countertop with elevated rear wall and continuous shelf. The new makeup area outside the master bath was custom built from coordinating espresso finished, cherry cabinetry. A newly added, frosted glass pocket door allows light to penetrate into both spaces. The natural materials and neutral colors used throughout the space provide this master bath with a calming atmosphere.

The Palette for the Guest Bathroom is Dark Teals & Greens with pops of Blood Red to accessorise, incorporating Bold Vintage Poster Prints. In the small space we still managed to fit in a 'wet room' style shower and freestanding bath.

Honoring the craftsman home but adding an asian feel was the goal of this remodel. The bathroom was designed for 3 boys growing up not their teen years. We wanted something cool and fun, that they can grow into and feel good getting ready in the morning. We removed an exiting walking closet and shifted the shower down a few feet to make room this custom cherry wood built in cabinet. The door, window and baseboards are all made of cherry and have a simple detail that coordinates beautifully with the simple details of this craftsman home. The variation in the green tile is a great combo with the natural red tones of the cherry wood. By adding the black and white matte finish tile, it gave the space a pop of color it much needed to keep it fun and lively. A custom oxblood faux leather mirror will be added to the project along with a lime wash wall paint to complete the original design scheme.

KitchenLab InteriorsKitchenLab Interiors
KitchenLab Interiors’ first, entirely new construction project in collaboration with GTH architects who designed the residence. KLI was responsible for all interior finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and design including the stairs, casework, interior doors, moldings and millwork. KLI also worked with the client on selecting the roof, exterior stucco and paint colors, stone, windows, and doors. The homeowners had purchased the existing home on a lakefront lot of the Valley Lo community in Glenview, thinking that it would be a gut renovation, but when they discovered a host of issues including mold, they decided to tear it down and start from scratch. The minute you look out the living room windows, you feel as though you're on a lakeside vacation in Wisconsin or Michigan. We wanted to help the homeowners achieve this feeling throughout the house - merging the causal vibe of a vacation home with the elegance desired for a primary residence. This project is unique and personal in many ways - Rebekah and the homeowner, Lorie, had grown up together in a small suburb of Columbus, Ohio. Lorie had been Rebekah's babysitter and was like an older sister growing up. They were both heavily influenced by the style of the late 70's and early 80's boho/hippy meets disco and 80's glam, and both credit their moms for an early interest in anything related to art, design, and style. One of the biggest challenges of doing a new construction project is that it takes so much longer to plan and execute and by the time tile and lighting is installed, you might be bored by the selections of feel like you've seen them everywhere already. “I really tried to pull myself, our team and the client away from the echo-chamber of Pinterest and Instagram. We fell in love with counter stools 3 years ago that I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on, thank god, because then they started showing up literally everywhere", Rebekah recalls. Lots of one of a kind vintage rugs and furnishings make the home feel less brand-spanking new. The best projects come from a team slightly outside their comfort zone. One of the funniest things Lorie says to Rebekah, "I gave you everything you wanted", which is pretty hilarious coming from a client to a designer.

Modern doesn't necessarily mean minimalist, but the overall vibe is streamlined and spa like. By utilizing hidden storage, shelving, and hooks to keep items tucked out of sight when they're not in-use. Group items on display with intention to add style.
