The renovation preserved the original architectural elements such as the ceiling and original stone fireplace to preserve the character, personality and history and provide the inspiration and canvas to which everything else would be added. To prevent the space from feeling dark & too rustic, the lines were kept clean, the furnishings modern and the use of saturated color was strategically placed throughout.

VIKNA - Arquitectura de InterioresEn su interior, el baño tenía que ofrecer el mayor confort en el menor espacio posible. A tenor de los escasos metros de la casa en general y del baño en particular, aprovechar cada centímetro cuadrado era un reto del proyecto. Una especie de ejercicio de “vivienda mínima” de primeros cursos de Proyectos.
Para superar este reto se optó por sanitarios compactos y suspendidos, Meridian de Roca; grifería mural, Pan de Zucchetti; suelo totalmente continuo de microcemento en toda la casa, ¡incluida la ducha!, y revestimiento mosaico, Hisbalit Unicolor 103 4x4 (revestimiento blanco con junta en negra haciendo contraste).
La elección para las paredes del baño de un revestimiento mosaico permite resolver la curvatura de las propias paredes; facilita la ejecución de la repisa y de la hornacina bajo el lavabo (que no se aprecia pero está); ayuda a conseguir mayor sensación de amplitud; combina genial con el microcemento del suelo y, además, a través del juego con el color de la junta, le da un toque muy personal a la estancia.

M.O.Daby DesignL+M's ADU is a basement converted to an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) with exterior & main level access, wet bar, living space with movie center & ethanol fireplace, office divided by custom steel & glass "window" grid, guest bathroom, & guest bedroom. Along with an efficient & versatile layout, we were able to get playful with the design, reflecting the whimsical personalties of the home owners.
