No, this was designed as a new home. Placement of the roof is both a playful gesture and also resolves an upper bedwall (left). In addition, it creates additional shade for West bedroom (right). Design inspired by "man-made" rigs you sometimes see out on the Gulf horizon. The truss does support the roof-it is structural.
