Need ideas for how to furnish this room
Comments (4)Thank you for your comment, The fireplace looks so bare, originally there was a huge surround and I couldn't believe the size of the actual grate when it was all removed. I had wondered if I should have had the piece of granite hearth extended to the wall and built a narrow bookcase by the chair. I will definitely get a mantel. No tv yet, don't know where to put it,? There is a tv point in the corner to the left hand side of the couch, just under the window. Thanks again,...See MoreHow to dress sliding doors
Comments (7)I can't zoom in on your photo to get a closer look. Maybe you could take some close up shots. Alternatively you can add a contemporary pelmet box above and the blinds can be mounted into this. I would recommend having them custom made by a professional company with a quality installer. Roman blinds on a chain side winder mounted above the doors would also work well. I have some examples on my profile page....See MoreKnock down wall between kitchen and dining room or sliding door
Comments (0)Hi All, Apologies if this has been done to death but I currently have a very dark dining room due to an extension that has been built to the rear of it. The kitchen has relatively more light so I was hoping to borrow some light from the kitchen. I am a bit nervous about fully bringing down the wall between the kitchen and dining room as I would like to preserve the entity of both rooms if that makes any sense. Question is any ideas or photos of the below ideas that can help me decide between the options I am looking into: (a) knock down wall fully (b) knock down half the wall to create an arch (c) add a sliding door between dining and kitchen? Below are some photos of the house....See MoreRevamp of front door & porch (photo in comments)
Comments (4)Looking for ideas for updating front door and vestibule/porch area. Do I keep and update exterior sliding door or replace? I'm edging towards a light green for our internal door as goes with interior scheme. Hall quite dark so thinking of moving light fixture inside interior door and keeping as much glass in doors as possible. Any one with similar set-up or a creative brain that can share ideas? I'm stumped! (Didnt know how to add photos so included below in comments). Based in Cork city....See More- 10 years ago
