Entryway configuration advice
Need some opinions on the best way to configure our entryway. Currently there are two doors (one into lounge and one into 'study'), we have temporarily blocked up the one into lounge as I don't like walking directly into lounge as entryway. The study is a converted integral garage and we use this space as bootroom plus desk. I have a few idea of what we want to do with space but wonder what other people's opinions are as I know you guys often have great ideas.
We don't really need the study space so it could be repurpused as bootroom and utility. Was also considering a small infill extension where lounge/porch are. Open to ideas...

9 months agoWould knovl8ng z new external door be an option? Enter from within a part covered porch, deposit shoes etc in a wardrobe made into the old lounge door, straight through study. Keep in mind that furniture won't easily go through a tight turn, nor would a wheelchair/ buggy or stretcher,

If it were mine, since the door appears to open into the next room, I'd consider modifying the sideboard to be used as a rad cover and lower the art so its center is 5' above the floor. Comments (26)Hi, you have a lovely home! I read through your thread, and I like Dar Eckarts suggestion above the best. I think because of the symmetry of it as an H shaped house is symmetrical, and it would also keep the space looking decorated but still open and uncluttered which is what an entrance should be. Sorry, but I don't care for the bookcase idea in an entrance. I also noticed the masks you have, and think it would be great to decorate the space using them as inspiration. Thanks for the ideas, all really interesting. I hadn't considered the accessibility in relation to getting furniture, prams etc in and out. We do have side access to the back of the house but no ideal. I was considering this configuration (attached) possibly adding utility by extending small cloakroom (currently very small wc)...Will need to think about access and could relocate front door potentially.
