Entryway configuration advice

Need some opinions on the best way to configure our entryway. Currently there are two doors (one into lounge and one into 'study'), we have temporarily blocked up the one into lounge as I don't like walking directly into lounge as entryway. The study is a converted integral garage and we use this space as bootroom plus desk. I have a few idea of what we want to do with space but wonder what other people's opinions are as I know you guys often have great ideas.
We don't really need the study space so it could be repurpused as bootroom and utility. Was also considering a small infill extension where lounge/porch are. Open to ideas...

Hello,

I think repositioning the front door would help greatly with the overall feel of the entrance.

In this idea I've put the door on the right with a big window replacing the existing door.

from the a double folding dooe lead into the boot room/storage area with a seating space.

You could go bespoke here with fitted wardrobes and a bench seating under the window.

There's also a small dedicated utility. You could add a glass pane between the two to allow natural light into the utility.

How do you like this idea?

It's almost like a double door/storm door porch. It looks quite snug. Do you need an entryway to store items? If so I would consider extending it to the end with a lot of glass at the front or a glass roof or skylight. Agree about the third door, there is one too many there.

Would knovl8ng z new external door be an option? Enter from within a part covered porch, deposit shoes etc in a wardrobe made into the old lounge door, straight through study. Keep in mind that furniture won't easily go through a tight turn, nor would a wheelchair/ buggy or stretcher,

removing the door to kitchen would be easiest & cheapest way to open up & brighten the hall area. Next best, but more costly would be replacing door with one with glass panels. Look for used one in 2nd hand or @ your local Habitat for Humanity store. Keep the one you take off just in case other one gets damaged and needs to be replaced. Replacing only two panels would not achieve much I don't think. A mirror should only be placed where it can reflect something of interest & expand the room. If I recall, the staircase is what would be reflected? A photo collage frame? I think more colour is called for here. Your home, your choice. Bottom line is you decide what is right for your space. As you have likely noticed everyone has a different opinion, professional or not. Most important in re-styling a space is what the home owner wants to use the space for & to be their taste.

We have made room for an en-suite shower room to our guest room we went for the largest shower cubicle we could reasonably fit in. Found the nicest white tiles to make the best of the space. Fitted bifold shower screen feeling the space was too small for a wet room( too much drying off of the fittings and paddling water beyond the area). toilet opposite, and sacrificed on the basin, just a small wash hand basin. Our thinking being that these days people tend to shower rather than wash and the smaller basin works well for teeth cleaning and hand washing. it works well. Hope yours will too.

I'm wondering if I share the ground floor plans would that make it easier to understand the house layout. As I'm thinking maybe the bathrooms have to be on one side of the house for plumbing reasons? Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you

Thanks for the ideas, all really interesting. I hadn't considered the accessibility in relation to getting furniture, prams etc in and out. We do have side access to the back of the house but no ideal. I was considering this configuration (attached) possibly adding utility by extending small cloakroom (currently very small wc)...Will need to think about access and could relocate front door potentially.

Update - currently in the process of creating small office and opening up porch. Last two photos a bit of AI trickery.

A cushion pad on that bench would be a comfy solution.
Excuse AI’s slightly warped version of my perspective here…😅 here are a couple of ideas. You could put a dish for the keys on the window sill as an alternative?
The second one for a more snug feel.
