Skirting and door frame colour

Would it look odd to paint the door frame the same colour as the walls and have light oak skirting board?

I think its visually better if the frame matches the skirting. You could try it and see how it looks. The issue with what you are proposing will really emphasize the skirting although it depends on what colour you are painting the walls.If the walls are light it might look good. If your walls are going to be a dark colour I would advise against it. Is the door staying a natural colour?

The walls are going to be painted a very pale cream, the skirting is all being replaced , I don't particularly like painted skirting, hence thinking light oak,but the door frame is already painted wood, which will need repainting the same colour as the walls, as well as the door .

thanks, My dilemma is that the doors, skirting and architrave are all oak but the frames are MDF, any thoughts on what my options might be to make all these items work? I want to maintain the natural oak finish by simply staining but what to do with the MDF frames??

Hi .. I am in the middle of a self build and I have a few questions that I am looking for a little advice on ? I am looking at light grey PVC windows (on outside) ..Is there a norm ? for what goes on the inside of the window teaming it with Off white Interior doors and similar painted skirting boards ? I can't zoom in on your photo to get a closer look. Maybe you could take some close up shots. Alternatively you can add a contemporary pelmet box above and the blinds can be mounted into this. I would recommend having them custom made by a professional company with a quality installer. Roman blinds on a chain side winder mounted above the doors would also work well. Hi I have a dilemma... For a new build. I love sleek and modern and going for a high gloss kitchen with creams and nudes... From front door through to kitchen I want tiles I am thinking oak wooden floors so my question... What color interior doors do I choose? I love the look of the 2 panel white shaker door but are they a nightmare with kids and traffic and keeping clean? Also what color window frames would you suggest for this? Thanks a million
