How to place furniture in my awkward shaped living room

Hi All

I've been in my house for 7 years now and the living room is driving me mad as no matter how I arrange the furniture is doesn't fit right and there is always the "left out" chair that goes no where. It's a regtangular shaped room with an off centre fireplace and a bay window. Have looked online but nothing seems to match the same as mine for ideas. Will post pics tomorrow, any help gratfully received!
