Need change on my landing ????

I'm planning to repaint the walls in a slightly lighter shade and replace the lampshade and a sculpted art piece on my small landing area.

Any suggestions for what I can do with that space?

I already have a clock at the bottom of the stairs so not an option.

Any photos and ideas would be appreciate.

Gree with changing the shade, although it might be visual in the space - your pics seem to show that it doesn’t give off much usable light.

Photo was taken late at night. There is rooms off the landing but when all doors are closed it can appear dark. The photos is coming out really yellow for some reason. It’s the wall art that I’m really seeking advice. What can I change that for ??

Yes, we definitely need to see the fireplace before commenting! Actually, magnolia is a classic and maybe you're best to add colour in your furnishings/accessories, as you have with your new curtains. We need to see the furniture etc. as well. Also if you have the money you might be able to get a contractor to come out and add a drain in the corner. Then they could redirect the water in the drain. Also if you could put a rectangular/square glass enclosure around the whole area it would look amazing!

When you get rid of the brown leather furniture, I suggest you again get a sofa and 2 chairs as they will offer you more flexibility than a sectional sofa. You may even have space for a sofa and 4 chairs, or sofa and 3 chairs. It totally depends on your space and layout. Your choice for your sun room furniture should complement the living room, but be somewhat different. You may want to use lighter colors in the sun room section and more plants. The lighter colors will better withstand the fading problems that sun can cause and the plants will benefit from the sun.

I am a fan of black as a disappearing colour! If the tha bannisters were painted black the Victorian look of cast iron would fit. The walls are too pale , would you consider a dark green( FB Green Smoke) under the rail, next to the carpet, and a much lighter version above( FB Light Blue or Pale Powder). Not really sure of the shade of green in the carpet, it might be more FB Oval Room. I am fond of the Pugin look but realise it is powerful and invariably used with very dark paints. We changed our ginger brown stairs, over 3 storeys to white. 13 years later the effort was not only worth it but the pain has subsided too!

A simple print.. there are many online print shops.. would think about a light weight frame. Could still be dark, but not as heavy as your current piece.
