Need help deciding on furniture for my open plan living rm & sun rm

The living room is off the kitchen and the living room leads out to the sun room. At the moment I have a brown leather 3-1-1 suite in living room but I feel they are too bulky and I want to change them. Also I have room in the sun room for more furniture along with oval table and 6 chairs but no idea what kind of furniture to pick and how to lay it out.
