I have these 2 kitchen designs but something isn’t quite right with both of them. would like a tall oven but the tall oven in the picture feels like it’s in the wrong place the one on top being a microwave so the oven is still low and beside the oven is a door (the door can be seen in the other design with the low oven) how can we make it better?
l don’t like to see microwaves in wall units because l think they are positioned too high especially when lifting out hot liquids such as soup. I knew that was a Howdens plan before l got that far down the page because they always plan them there. Remember they are sales people not designers.
The position of the oven and microwave in the tall tower on plan 1 are correct insomuch they cater for standard doors.
The wall unit to the left hand side of the hob looks smaller than the drawer pack on plan 2. That drawer pack is so small you’d struggle to fit in a cutlery insert suitable to hold adequate bits and bobs. Again the symmetry on the wall units on the other end don’t seem to line up.
Like Daisy I prefer the plan with the oven and microwave stacked. I wonder if you gain enough to have a turn in the hob run and if you would be better having a straight run….. the benefits being you put the tall unit in the corner and have a room that feels more open, you have more elbow room each side of the hob, you can have wider pull outs and drawers. Consider if instead of the turn you could just have a deeper worktop around the hob in order to gain more work space.
