New sofa colour?

I have a very large painting behind my sofa that I won't change. Do any of these sofa colours work? Please help.

I think colour 7 is likely to work best - it’s dark enough to provide contrast, and looks like it’s a similar hue to the darker details of the artwork. But as others have said, it’s not easy to tell on a screen, with small samples and unknown lighting conditions.

Walls will be neutral depending on sofa. Grey or cream.

I think no 6 as it is picked up in the painting. I would also consider black depending on your natural light levels. It might not be so practical though. No 5 the grey might also work well.

The real coloured sofa would be a lot more versatile to restyle in a few years. The yellow colour lends itself to a more limited palette to work with when restyling. Hope that helps.

It feels bland because floors and walls are beige. (ish). If you want to make a statement about a room. contrasting shades work really well. You have spotlights so the south aspect is irrelevant. Put a dimmer on spots if not already there so you control the light and feel of a room. I presume the fire is staying there so that back wall would be perfect for TV to be put on/entertainment system. Corner couch facing tv wall with chaise lounge on fire side. Behind the corner or L shaped couch, table and chairs so the room is functional for entertaining also and the layout is proportional. The room also has a focal point (TV)

I understand..I think that the chair fabric should have some colour reference to the others... another thing you might think about is to maybe have the chair the same as the sofa then you can have a pattern fabric on the chaise.

Apologies for that. I read it as a grey. Its a good colour though, quite neutral I'm sure it would compliment the painting.

I think number 6, which looks a mossy green, would go very well. However iPads and iPhones do not always show colours perfectly, for example number 5 looks grey on my screen on both pictures.

I think 6, 7 looks to work well but it’s very dark and may dominate the room and likely to show up every bit of dirt

I’d say 6 or 7 . If the walls are light/neutral the dark sofa would be a lovely dramatic pop against the gorgeous painting behind.

Lovely piece you have there. I would suggest 7/8/10 for a bold, dark statement space.

Alternatively, I really love the contrast of neutral and pastel pinks with soft grey. If you perhaps choose a light grey sofa with neutral and pastel pink/blush cushions and accessories, would you consider reframing the painting in white for a more subtle, contemporary look. The colours look more

Depends on the shade, otherwise I think it is likely to lose itself within the background of the wall colour. Needs to pop!!! 🤩

I disagree - the painting is so dramatic and eye-catching in its own right that any 'popping' sofa is going to detract from that. The mossy shade of No 6 would work well, or possibly No 2 or No 8 - the inky tones pick up on the detailing in the painting, without overwhelming it. Is that black line above it part of the frame ? if so, then you could get away with a black sofa (but I personally wouldn't choose that because of all the dust/crumbs/clothing fibres that would show up. In the (fairly unlikely) event of you finding a sofa shade to match the golden/ochre colour, exactly, and wanted a statement piece, then I might go with that. The softer green might work, too, but I'm picking that up as grey on my screen. Do show us the finished result !

I agree no 7 will work well from your selection but tonally they are all very grey and merge into your stunning piece of art. I would suggest something much brighter and bolder to highlight the gold accents. Maybe look at a deep yellow ochre or other jewel tones. I think that will add a much more interesting dimension. This is the room now. Tv lounge area. About to paint . Needs a new carpet, and sofa. Will replace cushions and curtains once I lock down new scheme. It must live with our other part of living room which is more conversational by fireplace .

Your last two pics just show how important it is to see the whole room as it is. Sometimes things don’t need changing. Your room is lovely as it is, unless you definitely want to change the sofa.

The sofa needs replacement. The springs have gone in a section and the carpet it tired and dirty ( even after rug shampoo). So definitely time for a refresh .
