For the time being (and this IS only a temporary fix) try using a water based penetrating sealer on the grout. I stress water based, because solvent based sealers today are made to be "breatheable", meaning they allow moisture to transmit back and forth, while the water based sealers will repel water. You still need to address this in a more permanent manner (the glass door is a good idea, but it wouldn't hurt to remove the bathroom floor tile, waterproof the floor, and install a new tile floor), but this will help until you can afford to do what you need to do.

Hi--- I recommend painting the entire room and chair rail one color, as there are too many breaks\divisions in the space already. I think your ceiling should have a bit of emphasis, so painting it a deeper hue than the walls would add some drama, interest, and elevate the overall look. A larger rug is a must for this space, as well as art above the FP. I agree with Mark--- mirrors opposite windows to reflect light. Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. My first story kitchen extension looks like it's separating from the main house. There is a 2 inch crack in the concrete all the way round. Is there anything that I can do to fix this. I am saving for a new extension but will take me a few years. It looks like the roof felt is coming away from the house too as there are wet patches on the ceiling. Any advice would be appreciated
