Master bath layout help!

We are completely gutting our bathroom and taking down a wall to connect to the adjoining room and I’m having trouble deciding what would be the best use of the area. I have a couple different layouts that I put together and still unsure if I want a freestanding tub. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Pics are of two different possible layouts, a blank canvas, and what I’m envisioning esthetically for the area.

I would keep the shower and toilet layout as you show above. I'd suggest a long vanity along the bottom wall with two sinks and linen shelves in the bottom right corner. Then rotate the tub so it's centered on the 3-8 window on the top wall. If you need a dressing table, it could be along the wall between toilet and tub at the top.

About your plumber saying "plumb layout is confirmed". That is a load of rubbish. It's fairly easy to move drains around (yes he might have to rip up some walls, but he can also do off-the-wall installations to avoid that). In a small bath proper placement is of the utmost importance!!! If you have the bathtub and shower next to each other that will be much better and then the glass separator idea should work. padmaramachandran's (see post above) setup sounds more reasonable to me as well (see first picture below). This is similar to your setup but as you have more space you could put in bath tub and shower where the picture only shows a bath tub. Also if you do it that way you could theoretically have a bidet or a wider wash basin (small double perhaps too). Example layout: Do you need a bathtub in the guest bath? If not you have a lot more room to work with. E.g. for a double wash basin and large walking shower and a bidet (2nd picture). Example of off-the-wall installation for toilet and bidet and a large walking shower. Finally if you ignore this advice and do it the way you planned ;) then I suggest you really thing about that glass separator. Doing it right will make a lot of difference (see 3rd picture). Hi All, See below layout of our master bedroom. Ensuite is Top Left and Walk In Wardrobe (Nursery for a couple of years) is bottom left. Wife and I are unsure how best to lay it out, the room is 5m x 3.9m. Hoping you could give your insight and also any other suggestions on different layout options! Hi there I’m hoping for a bit of advice on the en suite layout. I have been flip flopping with this and not sure what will work best. Shower is 900 x 1200 and bath is 1700 - not sure if I’ll go with double or single vanity- there’s a skylight over this area which is about a metre. I don’t want bathroom to feel cramped but conscious there doesn’t seem to be much room for storage. Pic of drawing attached - other idea was to put shower along the other (2200 wall) and turn the toilet to the side. Spotted a picture of this idea and liked the look of it but I’ve no idea if my space is too tight! Any suggestions very much appreciated! Thank you

I would do a combination of the two. I would do the shower and toilet placement of the first one with the tub placement of the second. From there i would make the vanities slightly smaller ( keeping them beside the shower) with a drawer bank in between and place a shallow but fairly wide (maybe 2 27") linen cabinet on the wall across from the vanity

So I’ve circled back around and switched some things around and added things I definitely wanted in the space. Opinions on functionality and use of space? Is there anything I’m missing or think should be moved/added/deleted? Thanks so much for advice, I’m really wanting to get this perfect, I’ve been waiting awhile to have this project started!

I don't think you have enough room between the tub and the shower, Are you using a 60 inch tub. I would want a 30 inch walkway or more to the toilet.

If you decrease the shower space to 36 inches by 56, your walkway would be improved.

When a toilet is surrounded by walls as deep as the toilet, I prefer a 36 inch space or more for the toilet.

Here is another idea that might work. Can you move the bathroom entry door? I moved it over 6 inches to allow for a 56 X56 inch shower.

I like the vanity for makeup under the window with drawers next to it. Also, the tall vanity as you have drawn next to your entry door closes up the room.

pic on right is alternative if entry door can't be moved.

It will be a smaller 54” tub. I unfortunately can’t move the entry way, but I love the drawing you mocked up. I originally had a 15” deep tall cabinet when you first walked in and it seemed less intrusive so I may go back to that. I really like the corner door access for the shower or i could always move the bath further away from the shower and toilet, I’ll have to go back to my design and see the distance between the space. Thanks so much for your time, I may have to shift things around again lol
