Which first? Change glass or paint door?

Hello, I am planning on re-painting my wooden front door (after getting quotes for new wooden doors! Eek!). I also need to replace the small glass in the door, because it is very old fashioned. I am going to have a little stained glass window installed by a local glazier. I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but do I change the glass first or have the door sanded/painted? Or doesn't it matter? Thank you! x

    Ideally Fiona you should;

    1. Sand the door first while the old glass is still in place.

    2. Install the new glass.

    3. Apply masking tape around the edges of your new glass.

    4. Paint your door.
