Kitchen sink central to window?

Howdens are designing our kitchen (attached), would the sink being off centre with the window drive you crazy? It took me a while to notice but now that I have it's all I can see. I wondered if a Belfast sink drainer like the attached image would help trick the eye into seeing it a bit more centrally but I think I might be clutching at straws, wild you insist on moving the cabinets around until it's centred? I think moving the narrower (30cm) unit from next to the oven to the other side of the sink would put the sink in around the right place, but that would leave the dishwasher right next to the oven, would that be ok (with a suitable gap)? It might make the worktop space less usable but we will have an island too.
The Rangemaster in the plan is 90cm but we could upgrade to 100 or 110cm.
Also the two wall units around the window are different sizes and the gap around the window isn't symmetrical, is this one of those things that looks obvious on the plan but blends in once everything is tiled and styled up, or would it be really annoying? We're planning white metro tiles. The top left corner cabinet will house our boiler. It looks like making the window slightly wider would probably solve both issues but that isn't really an option for us.
I've looked at it so much that I've completely lost perspective so any outsider opinions or ideas would be great. I won't be offended, we didn't design it and it's a work in progress (we're not having the floor level strip lights. I know oak worktops are controversial but I'm afraid they're staying!)
Out of sight the wall on the right goes into an integrated fridge freezer and full height larder pantry cupboard, for reference, and there's an island in the middle.
I'm not super obsessed with perfect symmetry but I do want it to look nice!

If you could post a floorplan with dimensions, I'm sure someone will come up with a better design.

Happy to help ! I'm only a short swim away in England !! I think if you want a truly opulent cream for the kitchen cabinets - I'd suggest you get a colour match for the range ! It looks a very creamy cream ! Think it could be stunning ! Then have slightly lighter walls and tiles to keep the room feeling light and airy ! If you have walnut stain for your worktop on your island , I'd suggest using that on your exposed legs if you go for the dipped paint look on the table and chairs ! Are you having the classic CC shaped island ?!?

Hi Rachael, there are pros and cons to having a sink by the window or not. In general its down to how you want to use the room and the overall layout. I would prefer to put in the bench seat and look at the view, versus the time spent at the kitchen sink. That sink position would drive me mad. It’s a focal point so your eyes are drawn to it. Not a good design. Do what you suggested with the carcases and no the dishwasher being next to the oven makes no difference with the insulation provided these days.

Howdens are sales people not designers.

Why not go to an independent for a better choice, plan, customer service and quality.

Whatever you choose get that sink moved to be more central.

Why not start the run from the left with your 30cm cupboard, followed by the dishwasher, then sink and the other cupboard. If the dishwasher needs to stay on the right hand side, so long as you have 2" between the dishwasher and range, it should be fine. Then looking at the picture, you could match the bottom 30cm cupboard with one above, solving the unbalanced line. I have had oak worktops which were great, but I would strongly advise for a drainer. I would certainly point it all out to Howdens and ask for a rethink.

I agree, the sink needs to be centred on the window, or somewhere else completely! A floor plan would help those who draw up clever designs, there are a good few on here. Daisy’s suggestion of going to an independent is a good one, they tend to be more interested in achieving a design (and installation) that works for you, rather than having a sales target to achieve. I’ve always found Howdens waste space with infills. Used them when I worked in housing, nearly always had to send designs back with improvements to be made. Maybe I should have just drawn up the designs myself. 😂
