bedroom layout help

Hi everyone, hopefully someone will be able to help me... I'm struggling with the layout of my bedroom. It's being refurbished now and I have to think about plug sockets etc and wall lights for bed. We have a super king mattress (getting divan and headboard made) but don't know where to put it. I think the obvious location is from the chimney breast? As the room is a good size of places anywhere else it looks like it's cramped in... also want to put a sofa in there etc. I've removed built in wardrobes and want a free standing but then need to plan all furniture too!

I like the idea of headboard against the chimney breast; with those two windows you have a choice of views when sitting up in bed. 😃

There isn't a better option than the bed in front of the chimney. But this gives you an issue of what to do for nightstands. You will need something deep and substantial. I have attached a rough idea of where furniture could go.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have considered moving the partition wall and have asked our architect to draw sketches of the same but he's not keen on the idea! Great suggestions so far - any further ideas much appreciated!

Thank you guys. I went to the carpet showroom today and the guy there was not very helpful. Just threw a few books at me. So I am none the wiser really. But there would not be as much selection here in Ireland as what you would have in the states. I won't give up though, I saw a few ones with speckles on it and they were nice but I think I will hold out for the pattern ones if I see them. Maybe what I want is not out there..... Wont see any dirt, only have to Hoover once a week, no foot marks and light in color ??

Hi. I'm looking help with the design/ layout of a bedroom that now needs to also provide a working from home space. I would ideally like to have a double bed and need a desk/chair and some storage. I think the existing built in wardrobes will need to be removed to give additional space and I'm ok with that. I'd really appreciate any ideas re layout. Thanks!

Oh wow I love the night stand ideas... the room is a bit of a building sight at the moment and I've tried to measure things out as best as I can... however I don't think there's enough room to put a wardrobe in the corner at end of bed. Think it might be a bit of a squeeze. I think I was a bit greedy buying as super king bed!!
