WC flooring suggestions
Hi, I’m looking for flooring suggestions for our downstairs toilet. We’re thinking of wallpapering the top half of the room in this blue hummingbird wallpaper and painting the bottom half (which is tongue & groove panelling) with Dulux Dune Grass.
But we are stuck on the floor colouring, any thoughts?

11 months agoMy sister has that gorgeous wallpaper in her kitchen but in the cream version. With so much going on I would go for a simple wood effect floor (porcelain, vinyl, LVT) or a pale off white/cream.

I'm asking, because that store seems to be just a bit wider than a door (so about 1 m) which is fine, but doesn't give much space to manoeuvre inside it. Also, a bit too many doors in a small space, but I'm afraid I can't offer you a remedy for that. You have two wide, massive windows and a door in between, I think that will give plenty of light. Personally, I'd just add skylights or a glass roof. Or a long strip of glass all along What you don't seem to have is ventilation windows. Trust me, you're going to want one in the utility, or at least a good fan. Transom style windows could work too if you can open them. I really wish you'd see an architect... there are lots of different, small things that a professional can spot from miles away that you wouldn't even consider. Comments (4)I spoke to a rep in the UK who confirmed the tiles are still current, but not available in UK or Ireland. I'll continue to try & speak to the manufacturer & hopefully it will come to a happy ending. We would like some suggestions as to what flooring we should use throughout the rest of the house. Comments (1)What a space! How about considering a white, or off-white, or alternative near neutral, before selecting cream? If you do choose cream, let it be because you love it in your space, rather than thinking it your only option. View paint chips before sampling in your space, to see which best fits with your floors and lighting before sampling further. Pulling one colour up over the walls and across the ceiling will blur the boundaries and add to a sense of airiness. Here you can compare the key attributes of one colour over another. 11 months agoThat will look lovely! Great choices. So I would suggest if you want 'out there' fun for the cloakroom then pick out the navy/red combos too with a tile or for something more serene then how about a sandstone type tile. If the room is dark then a glossier tile might add some more glamour to the space as the light reflects off it. Good luck!
