Any suggestions for our ground floor layout?
Comments (14)Jen, are you sure everything is in proportion? I'm asking, because that store seems to be just a bit wider than a door (so about 1 m) which is fine, but doesn't give much space to manoeuvre inside it. Also, a bit too many doors in a small space, but I'm afraid I can't offer you a remedy for that. You have two wide, massive windows and a door in between, I think that will give plenty of light. Personally, I'd just add skylights or a glass roof. Or a long strip of glass all along What you don't seem to have is ventilation windows. Trust me, you're going to want one in the utility, or at least a good fan. Transom style windows could work too if you can open them. I really wish you'd see an architect... there are lots of different, small things that a professional can spot from miles away that you wouldn't even consider. As I said, I regret we didn't; our house is great, but it could've been even better!...See MoreNeed alternative suggestion to matching tiles
Comments (4)I spoke to a rep in the UK who confirmed the tiles are still current, but not available in UK or Ireland. I'll continue to try & speak to the manufacturer & hopefully it will come to a happy ending. I know I won't be 100% happy with anything else....See MoreLooking for flooring suggestions to compliment my kitchen tile
Comments (0)We had a very nice porcelain tile laid in our kitchen. It looks like a distressed grey wood plank. We would like some suggestions as to what flooring we should use throughout the rest of the house. Carpet is not an option and the installer said that because of the way the current floor is installed, tile is really not an option either. The walls are light grey with purple accents. What do you feel would be the best look?...See Moreliving room paint colours - suggestions appreciated
Comments (1)What a space! How about considering a white, or off-white, or alternative near neutral, before selecting cream? If you do choose cream, let it be because you love it in your space, rather than thinking it your only option. View paint chips before sampling in your space, to see which best fits with your floors and lighting before sampling further. Pulling one colour up over the walls and across the ceiling will blur the boundaries and add to a sense of airiness. Here you can compare the key attributes of one colour over another. Which Hue Family does it belong to and where within that Hue Family does it sit? (Hue) Which appears lighter? (Value) Which is more neutral? (Chroma) Which reflects the most light?
