Looking at covering a bad grassy garden with stones of various types to create a point of interest but wondered how to separate between the stones colour wise?? Ie do you user plastic border rolls or something else?. Cant find anything online for the stones - just between grass and stones etc. Thanks
I have those clay Victorian edging strips to contain mine but they might be a bit too high. I’ve noticed in the pics below that they have used pavers and setts to contain the gravel and they are quite low down. You could use old house bricks but they will eventually flake, but may last a year or two. I like where they’ve mixed it with stone slabs.
Thanks Sonia! We have those victorian rope ones around some of the bigger bedding borders that my dad got from reclamation so they are good for the larger beds but too chunky for the middle.
Could use pavers I guess then in between.
Had seen some border things on a roll or metal that you can bend which are thin which could work.
Their garden doesn't have any spare stones sadly so have to buy it all and working out the cheapest and least work as I have to do it 🤣 ha ha
We’ve used plastic border roll to separate gravel from grass and gravel from borders which works really well. Don’t see why you can’t use it to separate different types of aggregate. In fact I think they advertise for that purpose too. The metal is better but considerably more expensive, especially if you have a larger area to do.
