This might sound a bit like being on the fence given the advice you've had already... How about a mid to dark grey ( less contrast than black), RAL 7022 is a favourite of mine (warmer grey), or look at a green grey, as something that will have the colour of the olive, with a good amount of contrast against the white render, (you won't have the warm rich colours of the brickwork as in the photos above (which the olive looks good against)). If you are painting the timber windows you would do well to look at microporous opaque stains to reduce your on-going maintenance. A benefit of aluclad composite windows is colour outside can be factory supplied different to the interior finish. Hope this might help. Regards, Nick

Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. To pay or not to pay

Hi Guys! After two terrible tiling jobs in a wet room and finally getting the tiles done properly in the remaining floor by a third tiler (hired by the same plumber that hired the other two bad tilers) I'm supposed to pay the remaining E650 quoted for the labor. (I already paid E300 for plumbing job in bathroom). After spending an extra E800 in new tiles from an independent shop so the bad tile job could be rectified I'm thinking not to pay them at all as I consider that I already paid more than enough (THEY would actually owe me at least E150 ). I also think they are illegal as no contract or detailed info was given at any stage of the whole bathroom renovation (plumber was asking for payment in cash). They were also charging me for materials that were not even necessary like extra trims, extra glue, etc. Am I entitled to refuse to pay as I had to buy extra tiles because of their mistakes? I would appreciate any opinion.
