Remarkable this has not been properly resolved. Have now bought and send back two Bosch Microwaves - one recommended by Howdens themselves and another bought on a set of measurement in their brochure which turned out to have been printed with height and depth the wrong way round. Here’s hoping thx!

320 is the overall depth including the door of the microwave, so internal depth needed is 300mm for the cabinet, if not enough try removing plaster. Also usually need 50mm air gap above and if it's not a specific microwave wall unit then remove any back panel.

Thanks for comments all. Delighted to say the Zanussi fits the 290mm deep unit. Have had to send two Bosch ones back to get this far despite them being what Howdens recommend for it. The only one they sell which fits is the ugly
