It may be the architects design, but it's your home and your kitchen. If you are comfortable with the plan, then go for it! A perspective view would help visualize the cabinets. Something like this.

Mid renovation and we noticed the architect did not measure the house correctly which leaves the design compromised, what to do next? Measurements have been taken incorrectly when the survey was done (by the architects firm), my builder now discovered the stairs will not fit as the house is 300mm narrower than the drawings. We are more than half way through the build and this is not the first issue we have with differences between the drawings and the actual measurements however its the most significant. I feel my builders have had to focus on fixing these errors and finding solutions rather than focusing 100% on building. What can i reasonably expect from the architects at this stage? no idea on utility. but what about twisting the kitchen 90degrees. have it all longways so when washing am looking out the big windows not out the smaller one. you still have the island just twist it too and move the cooker to sink area by the wall. island can be for rolling dough when baking bread. that frees up space along the upper wall for built in washing machine dont see how to build a utitly room tho :( put in some in-wall sliding doors so you dont need the big space for living room door opening. use a two piece corner door for the toilet as that surely will be hard having the door and front door open at same time.

hi, I'm looking for any feedback on my design but particularly I'm wondering how to do the cooker hood, I will need to vent it out the wall to the left where the window is so I will need to box in the vent or hide it with cabinets. I also have the top half of an ercol dresser that I plan use as shelving somewhere over the sink and hob area, I've added a photo of one. So I'm not sure if I should squeeze in a wall cabinet for the cooker extractor or use a chimney design. I'm not mad about the look of the chimney design ones and my budget is not that high to buy a fancy one. Another thing I'm not sure about is having the tall cabinet for the oven and microwave, maybe it's going to make the room which is quite small, feel a bit heavy? I've used an island in front of the radiator to add storage and counter space, open to suggestions on that too. The worktop in the design is a marble effect ceramic, I wanted something bright and warm coloured to go with the dark of the lerhyttan black cabinets.I will probably go for a laminate version of this worktop but keep the style due to budget and finding out that ceramic worktops chip easily. I'll probably do the walls in a buttery yellow and the floor will be beech wood. The ceiling is slightly low in this room as it's converted from the garage and the room faces west.
