Toddlers bedroom layout and furniture styling
Hey houzzers! Really struggling with my daughters (18 months now) bedroom layout and styling. I think it’s the placement of the door and window throwing me off , and perhaps the roundedness of the cot ?! I’m not sure what I’m missing but it’s not flowing. Any help/tips greatly appreciated. Open to trying a new cot to be honest! Ps so sorry about the mess in the room, taken in haste/ still getting the new place sorted x

Comments (15)Once again, carolins has taken the words right out of my mouth. I sometimes feel like a crusader for entertainment centers and lowering art! You have a dynamic room with so much potential. Your wall could look amazing with the armoire carolins has pictured above. Of course, lower your sconces so that they're a about 4" below the top of the armoire and about 7" from the sides. Your fireplace should be your focal point with your wall being strong but not competing. Rooms get personality from smaller accents but you have too many little things that take away from the great colored pillows and the picture. Be careful not to hang things in straight lines--top of pictures should never line up with tops of doors or curtain rods. I wish we could see your fireplace in another photo. Chairs should form conversation groups with the couch like Carolyn has outlined. I like your chandelier but you might think about lowering it or moving it above a dining table--it looks rather lost way up there....See MoreRoom layout - ideas?
Comments (25)Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. You could try a feather pendant, that lasts from baby to adult! The cot might look nice on a diagonal across a corner (but not pushed right in) maybe where the chair is so your baby isn’t too close to the radiator
