Help me finish my bedroom
Comments (36)I would also definitely go white if the windows are on the green wall. Will be much more natural to tie the accent wall with the stark wht contrasting walls. Always a very chic contemporary look. Also very relaxing as opposed to the treatments standing out when you already have your standout feature- the green accent wall. Great white bed you ordered! Then I love all the blue/green/ silver accent advice. I did a similar room in purples/greys/ whites and we used great posted prints of florals with a little oriental flair in nice big mats w frames. You could do florals or nice big botanicals in greens would be very fresh and modern!! White or silver frames or maybe even the shock of black would be cool....See MoreNeighbours extension wall
Comments (19)The rules may have changed but when we built our extension the wall adjoining our neighbour had to be completely within our own boundary. It looks as if your neighbour has continued along the party wall and therefore half the depth of the wall is on your land. It might be worth getting a chartered building surveyor to check it out as otherwise it may cause difficulties when either you or your neighbour come to sell. If I'm wrong about this maybe a professional on here could correct me. Other than that I think you should make the best of the little private courtyard it has afforded you by using plants in pots and climbers to soften the wall....See MoreNeed Help with long sitting room.
Comments (4)I'd put another set of sliding doors between the lounge and the playroom rather than a solid wall. Reason being is that it gives you more options. You get to sequester the mess and noise when you want and you still get a good flow later on when the kidlets aren't such mess monsters. I'd make both sets of sliding doors have full-length frosted glass inserts. That will let in the light. Or you could use shoji doors if that suits the decor better. From your plan, I'm assuming the house is semi-detached, so windows on the right wall aren't possible? Also, you might consider a pocket door from the hallway to the lounge and from the hallway to the utility room. That way you don't have to allow space for door swing....See MoreSliding door cupboard in a Shaker kitchen?
Comments (0)Hi, I am changing the shape of my kitchen to a U shape to maximise storage. I am hoping to put my utility machines and wall boiler behind sliding doors as pictured. This would also enclose the small window which only looks into my neighbour's kitchen! It was originally designed as a utility room so the window was never meant to be in the kitchen. Would this work in a Shaker kitchen? I will be getting Shaker presses in cashmere and the sliding doors would be in the same painted wood. The chrome surround of the sliding doors would match the chrome handles of the kitchen presses. The sliding doors would have a window next to it with presses underneath before the next tall unit starts so maybe that would visually separate the two styles? (The island will be gone and the fridge integrated). Bit worried it might look too contemporary in a Shaker kitchen. Any advice appreciated!...See Morewinsome
