Plug in ceiling rose?

We are trying to future proof our open plan space and give us some options for lighting positions.

I’ve been looking at the Hager Klik system which allows for “pluggable” pendant lighting (which we can then move/swap out etc)
including the mechanical load but there doesn’t seem to be a way of “blanking” off sockets not in use.

Has anyone got an alternative option?

I think that the rooms that are best lit have many light sources and in those spaces people rates use ‘the big light’.
So don’t worry about the ceiling pendant- the reality is that an electrician can move them later if you ever needed to- instead make sure you have enough sockets for standard lamps and table lamps.

You can have 3amp
Sockets dedicated to lights and then have a switch to put them all on- it is quite cool to be able to dim all of your table lights but it’s also quite expensive to instal.

There are also whole room systems installed by lighting specialists where you can change the lighting on an app- this falls into the pricey but very very cool category. This would comprise mainly of LED strip lighting hidden in ceiling bulkheads (so you need plasterwork as well as electricians) but you can then change the lighting as per your mood, I really like that you can follow your circadian rhythms (have whiter light in the morning and yellow light later on to mimic changing sunlight patterns throughout the day) which makes your electric lighting very easy to live with

I am afraid I am quite unable to tx photos on to computer. The landing is 1.75 metres wide and 6.75 metres wide with 7 doors off it. At present I have wired it for two ceiling lights and two lamp plugs but I am now wondering should I include two wall lights for soft light. Have to decide for my electrician!! Myriam

Jen, are you sure everything is in proportion? I'm asking, because that store seems to be just a bit wider than a door (so about 1 m) which is fine, but doesn't give much space to manoeuvre inside it. Also, a bit too many doors in a small space, but I'm afraid I can't offer you a remedy for that. You have two wide, massive windows and a door in between, I think that will give plenty of light. Personally, I'd just add skylights or a glass roof. Or a long strip of glass all along What you don't seem to have is ventilation windows. Trust me, you're going to want one in the utility, or at least a good fan. Transom style windows could work too if you can open them. I really wish you'd see an architect... there are lots of different, small things that a professional can spot from miles away that you wouldn't even consider. As I said, I regret we didn't; our house is great, but it could've been even better!

Sorry, yes, I didn't explain very well, did I... I meant that as your room seems to be quite light, floor included, a dark grey that matches the bird on your wallpaper would give you that wow factor (pic1 below). You could then work on the layering textures within the same colour palette too with the rest of your accessories (rugs, mirrors etc). Or if you're not too keen on greys, pick out one of the other colours if you prefer- you have a good selection of pink, blue, green or yellow. As long as you match the exact shade you can't go wrong, in my humble opinion. I've attached a few pics below to show you what I mean xx
