Hi amfork, I went ahead & put the hob on my island & am delighted I did. I find it really is so much nicer looking out at the kids/my husband & being able to chat to them while I prepare meals as opposed to facing the wall with my back turned on everyone. I put a 4 ring induction hob on the island & put a 5 ring gas hob on counter facing wall. I did this as I have a large extended family & we frequently have get togethers. It’s great for catering for big events. However, I use the 4 ring induction hob on a daily basis. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your project, Claire

Why don't you have an L shape and use the area under the window also for your sink and a couple of extra units? you could add shelves on either side of the window? Not sure why your fridge has to go at that end? might be best at the other end? As Sarah, suggests, get full height cupboards, and put the microwave in one of those, so that you're not losing so much space. Extra storage is probably more useful than having the microwave on display? It can easily be put on a shelf within a cupboard. (Our isn't even in our kitchen, but then we only use it once a week or so... so really depends) I'd also suggest drawers to the bottom of your units instead of cupboards.

Need Help to plan a Layout for my Kitchen, with Island, We are buying a new house and the only change we cannot make is the cooking place as the chimney is fixed by the builder. We are planning to have a breakfast bar, with dinning table to accommodate 6 people and a TV on the wall, space to do some homework while cooking. Looked at some of the ideas with Breakfast bar with dinning table ( like sofa to sit 4 people) and two chairs Hope someone can help me! Below is the plan

Hi all..Recently bought a 2 bed terrace. The kitchennever updated and is quite the eyesore ! Im looking to carry out a complete revamp. I'm at a loss as to how to make best use of the space. It's the one space I like to spend time in.. no kids so not a consideration.I will attach some measurements and photos. I would love to get some views/opinions from you. Unfortunately I just don't have a great eye for this .It is a compact size I guess. Dining will be in kitchen also.I'm not too bothered about separate table. Love the idea of breakfast bar/small island/ galley style but I'm not sure if space allows.Ideally I'd like to extend out the back garden but it's just too expensive for now.Moving rads.. knocking internal walls etc are all things I'd def considerAll ideas welcome.
