Bring colour into greyscale bedroom

I'll preface this by saying I'm really pleased with how this room is turning out, BUT it is a bit 50 shades of grey and I'd like to bring in another colour. I'm thinking blush pink and/or emerald green. Does anybody have suggestions (ideally with links or pics as I seem to have no imagination since moving!) as to how I can bring these in? I've tried cushions but I feel like they look weirdly out place against the black and white bedding - but I'd like to proved wrong!

Just to add, I'm not attached to the cushions on the pics. They're actually from a different room though I do like the cream and grey boho type one. Again though struggling to being the colour into the room with that

I think mustard or ochre yellow cushions will help lift the scheme, or a blush pink. I wouldn’t pile the cushions up but sit them neatly in front of each other. You could add a charcoal grey throw at the bottom rather like in the first pic to add a bit of texture. A piece of art behind the bed would also look good I feel, as would table lamps on the bedside tables. The room looks a little bit bare?

Been there and done it. In the end we opted for something quite dramatic. I painted the teen's walls in panels of dark chocolate brown with white panels. She has a square room, and this effectively divided the two walls into three zones. (the outer wall are windows) and the other wall I filled with an IKEA sliding cupboard in chocolate brown and mirror to bring in the light and negate the dark chocolate. This machiavellan scheme allowed me to bring in all the elements that go with deep chocolate but that change according to the girl's whims (we began with a deep to vivid fuschia colour on the bed spread, shades and accents - achieved by a bit of creative spray painting, and sheets in the sales section of a store). Sure enough a year later, she was tired, so we changed the accents to vivid green. (Picture below is unfinished first stage - fuschia) Next on the list I have planned is a lovely sea blue. The point is that the usual white is boring but the dark chocolate provides panels of drama (and zones on which to hang posters/frames etc). Her bedhead was also made in cream with removable buttons that can be changed according to whim!

With the wood trim, and a white crown . .. I think the duvet color scheme wants white painted skirting and window / window sill. Then, try a softer violet on the accent wall .. .since both the red or the blue could coordinate with that but otherwise we have opposites - As a backdrop, violet can be nice with gray and white. Look at bm faded violet http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/fadedviolet#ce_s=violet and bm picket fence for the other walls, ( a soft warm off white that echos the tone of the carpet) with crisp white trim. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/picketfence If you want a deep shade, look at wood violet .. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/woodviolet#ce_s=violet the thing with a small room is that a shot of intense color can do a lot if paired mostly with neutrals and white. Great if you have a white wood headboard or padded slipcover above the bed, white matted art. . .. you do have good natural light, but with a dark wall you will want bedside lighting to be light and bright for nighttime. Here, the wood provided a gold element that was sort of helpful with the blue but will clash with where you are going.. Paint it out, and voila, you are on your way. . . there is a thread where a woman focused on white with coral - I'll find it and bring you the link so you can follow her decision making - she chose a strong accent wall in a small room and then concentrated on white and it is lovely.

Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Not really necessary for overnight guests (provide hooks on the back of the door) but useful for storing your out-of-season coats, etc. There is plenty of room behind the door. Buy one on eBay and paint it to suit your colour scheme.

Sarsheen, you've created a lovely classic kind of luxury Edwardian effect. Fab. I think that's when those moorish tiles came into vogue initially. To continue on the theme - you could try one of those nice (wood or chrome) towel stands, which can be moved around. (Like they have in London gentleman-club type bedrooms and country-house hotels.). If you got a wood one, you could echo this with a wood framed mirror, perhaps ? A big fern type plant that loves the damp would look glorious too!

It is very bare at the moment! We decorated and it looks much better than before, but that was nearly a month ago but to be honest it looks the same even now because I've just not been able to decide what to do to improve it. We were going to put a picture shelf above the bed but partner decided he didn't feel safe with that over his head while we slept (I have seen that feeling around even though lots of people presumably do it without incident!) The fairy lights I personally like but people have suggested they look a bit student-y which I do sort of see. I get easily bored with decor which is why we've gone for neutrals that we can add a pop of colour to and change it. Agree about the throw and will take a look at art for above the bed instead of the lights maybe. All of these pics are work in progress but it doesn't look any different now!

Blush pinks, ochre, oranges as suggested above.

I personally would construct built in shelving or a ledge in the recess behind the bed. You can even recess by bedside nooks.
