Hello, would be interested to get a quote from you please for floating staircases with glass panels. Could you provide one based on photos or we should schedule a visit? Many thanks!
As an Architectural Studio we ourselves wouldn't be able to quote for or produce such a staircase, this would be completed by a specialist steel and glass manufacturer. It was a bespoke piece made with a glass company and a steel fabrication company. To sum up how it works very briefly, the wall is made up of a large steel frame that has letterbox holes cut into it for each tread. A triple laminate stair tread is then effectively wedged into each one of these openings. The wall is then plaster-boarded and finished to your specification. In terms of a cost it was about £25,000, so by no means a light-hearted amount. The cost quoted there was around 4-5 years ago so is likely to gone up quite dramatically since then.
