Hi, I am trying to tidy up a lovely but neglected garden in our new house. Can anyone help me identify this plant and tree? The tree/Shrub could possibly be a Prunus, it hasn’t flowered yet but that could be due to the years of neglect. My efforts of identifying either correctly are failing.
Yes I agree with Angie, first is Arum, commonly called Cockoo Pint and has red berries after flowering. The other ilooks like a Hydranges - gorgeous shrub. It is a very thirsty shrub so keep it well watered.
The second, the shrub, might also be a Weigela. Profuse pink/red trumpet shaped flowers in summer. You should know by July, depending on what flower shape emerges.
