Comments (4)I think you can pull this together with some elbow grease and a few dollars. I'm not sure what you mean about extending the breakfast bar, but since the top looks like dark granite and everything else appears to be very light and neutral it give the Kitchen a a cave like effect. You might find a darker chandalier and hang it 30" off the table top instead of so low. Use a flat weave rug in simple stripes or a cisal with a dark border. Darker seat cushions tied onto the chairs. Replace the mirror with a single large clorful print....See MoreNeed ideas for how to furnish this room
Comments (4)Thank you for your comment, The fireplace looks so bare, originally there was a huge surround and I couldn't believe the size of the actual grate when it was all removed. I had wondered if I should have had the piece of granite hearth extended to the wall and built a narrow bookcase by the chair. I will definitely get a mantel. No tv yet, don't know where to put it,? There is a tv point in the corner to the left hand side of the couch, just under the window. Thanks again,...See MoreConservatory
Comments (2)I'm having trouble orienting myself in this room. Can you post pictures of whole walls? I see two sofas across from each other, but I have no idea where the chair is located. You have the TV located on a short wall on a too-small stand, and somewhere else you have a too small console table/shelf thing on a big wall with a wedding photo that is hung way too high. Why is the TV not on that wall? I suspect there is a better furniture arrangement, but we need better photos to see. Once the arrangement is set, we can do something about bringing some life into the room....See MoreConservatory
Comments (8)Once you select some large pieces of artwork to hang on the walls, it will help bring color into the room. I'm not a big fan of roller shades. Roman shades would make it look homier. Also, upholstered straight valances in a lively pattern over the tops of the windows will bring more color interest into the room and hide the shades when they are drawn up. Accessorize the sofas with colorful pillows. Get an area rug with some color and pattern going in it. Bring in a large piece of furniture as an accent piece/ display piece on the wall where that tiny console is now. Display collections of things you already have or would like to collect. The room appears to be lighted from the ceiling which is a very harsh light. Get some floor lamps and/or some tables and table lamps to bring the light down to human level....See MoreHU-768402840
