It looks like you've just started and have a base but you now need to build on that and bring in the pattern and texture. Neutrals are fine if that's your thing but you need layers of texture and pattern to make it work.

Do you have a piece of art you could use to get you started with a colour to add in?

You wedding picture looks lovely but it would look better standing on a dresser/console rather than hung on the wall.

Why not a barn style door with frosted glass if you want to close off kitchen As for the slip covers yes they can be dyed. I think wedding oics belong in private spaces and this one is hung way too high .I agree about a piece of art to help with accessory colors and I would choose some drapery to soften the walls they are way too contemporary for the furniture.If you are thinking of more contemporary furniture get white leather or any color for kids you cant't go wrong.

I would save my money, forget the door and buy some statement pieces for the link living room!! great a great coffee table or ottoman. Get a neutral rug with maybe a small hint of a color you like. then get some FUN pillows!!!! slap some window treatments up! BAM comfy town :) also search white couch cover and see all the rooms that come up on houzz with your couch, take the inspiration and use it!

also I agree the wedding photo on the wall has to go. Too small. if you want your wedding photo present, maybe have it put on to a large canvas OR create photo collage :)

you room is too white. i like the roller blind but they need to be in color, same for sleepovers. and a rug to match
bigger coffee table.

Once you select some large pieces of artwork to hang on the walls, it will help bring color into the room. I'm not a big fan of roller shades. Roman shades would make it look homier. Also, upholstered straight valances in a lively pattern over the tops of the windows will bring more color interest into the room and hide the shades when they are drawn up. Accessorize the sofas with colorful pillows. Get an area rug with some color and pattern going in it. Bring in a large piece of furniture as an accent piece/ display piece on the wall where that tiny console is now. Display collections of things you already have or would like to collect.

The room appears to be lighted from the ceiling which is a very harsh light. Get some floor lamps and/or some tables and table lamps to bring the light down to human level.
