Color palate help!

We are purchasing a home that has stained concrete floors in the color "Cola" it is a darker brown with warm red and orange tones. The walls are currently dark blue and we are wanting to lighten up the walls. We figure there are limited options with such a fatk floor so we are looking for wall and trim.color ideas. Thinking we'll have to go with a Mediterranean look? Any ideas for colors?

Hi.. have a look at the Colortrend colours for kitchen. You can use a darker version of wall colour for kitchen units also. Definitely paint them skirtings! hope this helps.. Tony

Ammonite is from the Yellow Hue Family and Down Pipe from the Blue-Green Hue Family. The two colours could work very well together as a Diad harmony. Note though, that Ammonite is a changeling of a colour. In a balanced quality of light it appears to most people as a near neutral grey colour. In imbalanced light it may have moments of greenness and possibly even hint a blue-ish cast. This doesn’t happen in every situation. Test in your space at the angle it will be viewed, just so you know how it’s likely to render in your son’s space. You may like it in all potential moods, but you don’t want surprises. A other alternative to consider with Down Pipe is Borrowed Light. It is very close in Value (lightness/darkness) to Ammonite but is from the Blue-Green Hue Family, like Down Pipe.
