Adding interest to our garden - looking for inspiration

Hi everyone. We’ve recently completed a side return extension with sliding doors and split level patio, and are now looking to upgrade our garden. A few few photos attached. The current garden is relatively long and widens out behind the shed. Mostly lawn at present but with a few established trees (which we like).

We’d like to add some interest (height?) and colour. As the photos show, we have set out a straight path to the shed but currently wavering on that as feel it might narrow the garden further. Current alternative thoughts are a curved gravel path left of the apple tree creating a large triangular planting area either side, thinking this would mask the shed a bit and create a journey to the bottom of the garden?

We’re happy to put some work in but are relative novices, so would like a scheme that can be easy to maintain once established.

Any ideas, thoughts or inspiration very much welcome.

Hi, not sure if having too many materials will detract from your lovely patio. I would probably use the same paving stones from your patio for your path, whichever location you choose for it. Personally, I would be quite practical and just have the path to the shed as we make frequent trips to ours and can save a bit if mess especially in the winter.

I agree that a curved path will help make the top of the garden feel less narrow and add interest to the overall design. Our neighbours put a curved path from their patio to lower garden in a similar space and the difference it made to a very boring, narrow undersigned space was incredible.

I agree with AR that limiting materials if possible will help form a cohesive design.

It's a lovely space and great to have a blank canvas to be working with. What are your plans for the end of the shed seen from the patio?

How will you pose for your Miss Photogenic photo op? Will you go with the Carmen Miranda fruit bowl tiara? Or would the Easter egg thingamadooeys suffice? Decisions, decisions..... Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. I love the cabin in the woods, its a intimate setting where you are drawn to the outside whilst keeping snug indoors. The use of fabrics sets it apart from the usual cold designs of other modern rooms. The attention detail in the selection of furniture pieces keeps it modern yet functional.
