How to hide toilet door which is visible after enter into house

Hi, my powder room is located under stairs, so the entry door to powder room is visible from main entrance. I have attached photo to show where the door is. Could someone suggest what is best to way to hide the doors ? any suggestions is more than welcome.

One other thought that no-one seems to have mentioned -- it looks like the next room 'along' is the dining . If you really don't want the door visible to people coming in the front door , how about moving the door so it goes directly from the dining room , and makes the powder room a long narrow room ? Not ideal , especially at mealtimes , but up to you to decide which would be worst .

You could even move the powder room around to where the study is , and make the understairs area a coat/broom closet or similar , then either expand the 'footprint' to allow for a WC and a study , or have the study elsewhere . IMO where the powder room is makes sense , but you know your priorities .

In one of your other questions you talk about your architect. Haven't you asked your architect, they work for you, if you have a requirement they should be able to respond to it?

There are ways to make the door look like part of the wall. There's no visible doorframe or handle, and it probably works better if the wall has pattern or texture or wallpaper.

The undercounter or stacked machines behind cabinetry sounds great. With the machines under the counter you create a generous work surface above for folding clean laundry or for kitchen tasks. The advantage of a sunny exposure for laundry is that you can more easily see potential stains to be treated and little rips to be mended. My washer and dryer are in my kitchen area. The noise is not so noticeable in the kitchen as it is in the room that backs onto the laundry machines. Coordinating the timing of the wash and dry helps reduce the noise intrusion while that other room is being used.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Hi! What was your final decision? I am also working on my tiny WC and came to the following conclusions (after 2 months spent in tile shops, looking through houzz and pinterest photos). The tiles in small spaces: 1. Should reflect. The space should not be matt and absorb the light. The glazed tile reflects the objects like a mirror and creates depth. 2. Should not be oversized. When you like the big tiles on the photo you posted - just adore them at the picture. they will not go to a tine space. Compare the size of the bathroom and the size of the tile. Try to imagine the pattern. 3. Don't be mislead by professional designs and photos (like the ones you posted and you like). Most of them are the bathrooms which are really huge in size. So the tiles that are on the picture will not go for your project. You want a small SPA oasis? Forget about concrete and metal look and all the things like that. I took a sample of concrete tile in my bath... really you feel uncomfortable, when you step on the concrete barefoot, Though I have floor heating , I wouldn't go barefoot. Its concrete!:))) Concrete is good for a big loft or industrial design, I think. 5. For a SPA - look I would opt either for the mosaic (which is classical for SPA, but be careful with that. May be monochromatic or achromatic) or wood optic tiles combined with warm white tones. 6. Much color in small bathrooms is not a good option. It is better to add it with accessories. Moreover you can change the look just by replacing your turqoise towels by grey ones. You can add dynamics only by choosing not a typical size of the white tile and making an interesting pattern. For example, for my tiny WC i have 25x75 cm tiles and will put them in a brick wall style. What I have chosen for my tiny WC is a wood optic (very light) tile for the floor and white tiles for the walls. They will cover the wall by 120 cm. The rest of the wall will be covered with wallpaper (navy blue or dark gray). Or may be just painted. Wish you good luck!

Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. simplest option would be to add a door between entry and hallway but where is the rest of the plans? can the stairs be changed what is on the other side of the stair well ... we need to see the whole floor plan for upstairs and downstairs including dimensions?

Add a fabulous set of pots, or a planter with a gorgeous plant, a stunning door handle, tell your guests powder room beside the planter….. pretty gorgeous all around

Is that an actual photo , or a CGI ?

There is no handle showing , which is a bit strange , even for an inwards opening door ( you'd need an automatic closer or similar ) . So the rest of my comment may not be valid , but here it just looks sooo booooring !

I can't see any advantage in hiding it , but I'd add some features that lift the overall room -- that will take some of the focus away .

So maybe wallpaper ( and it doesn't even need to be that wall ) or a feature wall in a different but complimentary colour . Maybe natural wood , maybe stone . Even a wooden door would be an improvement , as long as something else is added -- maybe a big abstract artwork on one wall , as well as the wooden door .

Sorry , but most office builds have more flare than that design -- it could easily be improved for not many $$$ -- I think you are focussing on the wrong problem .

aftab sidiqi, is your concern the aesthetics of a door in that position or the fact that it is the powder room?

Pottsy, it looks like a CGI picture? I saw a real estate listing once with the powder room off the dining room, surprisingly in a quite a large luxurious house.

Decoro Custom Interiors is right, I remember now there are safety regulations about how toilet doors function. So a completely disguised door might not meet them.

I agree with oklouise that a door between the entry and hall makes sense. Otherwise it seems rather obvious where a guest goes from the lounge. I think that's more of an issue than just the fact there's a door there. Kate makes a good point that if it's too hidden you have to guide people to it. As far as appearance goes, I like Julie Herbert's solutions. But maybe there is a better location for the powder room, if we can see the upstairs plan to understand how the stairs fit in?

Without dimensions, the entrance into bed 6 is wasted space and could possibly be used as the powder room connecting to the ensuite wastes, A hand basin would be fitted into the wall of the ensuite.

The current powder room space could become a coat room

I'am assuming that it's a Render and not a photo so that toilet can be moved prior to build
