I built a lot of homes and many renovations. The vast majority has been white windows inside and out. We built homes with black exterior which look very good. We also had homes with stained wood and wood vinyl on the interior. I got to say the window looses its presence this way. It kind of blends in too much and looks bland. Many other customers have agreed with this.

I had wardrobes in wood finish They looked so dark So I could not cope with BLACK.! I would sand and paint the wardrobe white and the walls. The bed you could make pull down covers for top and end . (Make them like an open bag so you can wash them .But a devan bed would give open space look).. materal of the same colour as the curtains. Padding them or just covering. Make the spread the same colour. For day time. That should lift the darkness from the room. You can have a blackout blind for night if you want to keep the colours light. My room looked a treet much brighter. and I sleep better now. .OliveH

Hi Could you post a photo of the build when its finished and the rooms it leads off as this will probably have an impact on what houzzers will advise,I imagine.

I'm about to hit go on an order of aluclad windows. We're going to go jet black on the outside as want to line up for a black exterior on the house later on (ideally charred black wood or equivalent). Inside I want to go for a white (though have been told don't do white aluclad as will look like PVC?) or a very light grey. Ours is a very minimalist colour palette, birch ply, white walls etc. Any advice on a RAL colour to pick for this? I think silk grey looks nice but has a touch of green to it?
