You can bur real reclaimed sleepers or new ones like Carolina said. They are usually oak or pressure treated pine. It's just a generic name given to a large piece of timber 100 x 200 x 2400
Hi, they are very thick timber, usually pine or oak, so you would need to buy a pretty big and heavy piece of wood. However, if you are thinking of making raised beds then you could use used scaffold boards which are pretty cheap. I think wood yards sell them and there are loads of sellers online.
