Are those glass tiles in the shower and if so, where are they from please?

Hi the tiles were from Fired Earth & yes they are glass

My understanding: You didn't find any problem functionally, but you feel this looks old & need some brightness & change in this. My advise: 1). Remove towel rod, shift it next to tub or behind closet & have full length mirror, which will make your space double & reflect natural light as well thus makes the space more bright. 2). Get couple of plants (small plants or bush type or creepers which doesn't occupy much space on floor but grows vertically). 3). Get some artifacts made from bright colored glass, can flower vase or wall hangings or glass tiles etc, these can be of yellow or Bright Orange color these are to be hung on walls opp to mirror or pasted(3M tape both side glued) if you are using tiles. 4). Get a mat of same color as artifacts & place between tub & closet. these all are easily done by yourself. OR if you can afford to then replace only green tiles & floor tiles if you wish to OR all tiles.

Here is a photo of a high gloss white floor with very bright lighting. Being in the showroom i can't say that there is a glare, but you can see reflections of the lights for sure. I did the electrical install for the space. Agree with HERE that glossy wet tile can be slick as snot.

Hi, I would incline to tiling the whole space in one material. Now, with that you have lots of options in terms of material choices. If you have underfloor heating I would recommend to go for porcelain tiles - they come in wide range of colours, patterns, stone and wood imitations. Marble and wood imitating tiles are very popular and timeless such as calacatta white marble, creme marfil marble, granite, slate. Wood porcelain tiles range from blonde tones, light, dark browns to almost black, zebrano. Porcelain tiles technology has evolved so much over the last decade that an untrained eye can not distinguish the porcelain from the real thing. And if you have children it's so much more practical as well. Easy to clean and maintain. However, if you don't have the option of underfloor heating I would recommend wooden flooring. Again throughout. I wouldn't break the flow with different flooring types. If you have your living room in that open plan as well, I wouldn't worry too much about changing the flooring type just because of it. You can always use large rugs to define the area and function of that space, and make it more cosy. I just completed a project with porcelain tiles throughout. You can have a look at my profile. I have same tile, size but a lighter grout. I'm doing glass tile backsplash, under cabinet lighting to make it really pop. New hardware on cabinets, painting cabinets. New sink, can't afford new appliances. But your kitchen is larger, light and nice counter tops. Don't have a clue what to do, white Formica and it's cracking, ugh. I'm thinking of using indoor/ outdoor area rugs and runners. Please share if you find solution. good luck, doecreekgirl
