accent chairs choice in living room

looking at 2 accent chairs. can you help advice which option works better. fyi this will be placed against a window opposite to a real blue sofa in a moderately sizedl iving room.

option 1 yellow accent and blue accent chair in same style

2) yellow accent chair vs blue accent chair in different style.

I would choose two matching chairs after all what ever you choose it will be different in style and colour to the sofa

Just a quick note to thank you all for sharing your thought, ideas, experience and time. I especially want to thank Bluenan and decoenthusiaste for being with me through the all process for the last 6 months or so..., just wanted to post few photos of the results (https://www.houzz.com/discussions/any-ideas-for-final-touches-to-this-living-dinning-room-dsvw-vd~569586) as I feel it is not only me who created this space but it is your creations as much as mine. It may not be perfect or according to the the "Rules", but it is Me and my family. Each and every piece was chosen by me in different parts of the world and each one of them has a unique story behind. I am very pleased with my space. I love it! I am very blessed. .... and so I am off to my new project now... Back to school.... that's really going to be hard ;) Thank you all, once again.

The trim in your rooms is outstanding. To "tie the rooms together", the one thing I would do is install chair rail the same color as the existing trim. The horizontal lines of chair rail will move the eye around the room and into the next room creating a flow. Chair rail is relatively inexpensive, easy to install and would be wonderful compliment to your existing beautiful trim.

Thanks maumason I think you're right about the more vibrant pops of mustard yellow, and I definately need an area rug. I've photo of romans below, they're a charcol grey and the walls are a light grey. Blenheim I like your photos and do think white fireplace is nice with navy wall but I don't think I'll attempt to paint my marble fireplace! I do like that mirror in your photo and maybe something similar would look better than what I have. I think i've too much going on with the feature yellow on the fireplace and the canvas and perhaps why it looks out of balance. I think if I paintrd he fireplace wall light grey like the other walls, changed the mirror, and painted the wall behind the couch instead (maybe navy? Dark grey?) it might look more focused? I know sofa and chairs are a bit chunky and I don't love them, but will have to put up with them for another while. They are recliners and super comfy which is important for me though!! I do like my coffee table and tv unit, it's reclaimed pine and looks nicer in real life - perhaps it'l work better once I get my dream sofa!!

I prefer the yellow chair. The only thing I would be wary of if you need 2 chairs Is that it often works better if there’s a proportional split of colour. There‘s a design rule which states 60% primary colour , 30 % secondary and 10% accent. There are variations to that but my point is I’m not sure 2 chairs would work as well with the sofa. Is there a chair that matches your sofa or perhaps show more of the room?

Need to see the whole room as it depends on wall colour as well as style/colour of existing furniture and your flooring too. I’m liking the yellow but will it go with your walls? Are they pink?

thanks. no coloured walls, simple pale wooden floor. My question is on which pair of accent chairs is better .. 1) yellow+ blue atkin chairs 2) yellow atkin and blue jonny chair. the blue chair is whats intended to link with the sofa.
