Walk way space?

Hello Guys, We have finally, sourced a kitchen for our kitchen extension, only been without one for over 2 years! Its second hand so it's a bit tricky to fit everything thing in.

I've put on old unit in place to visualise where my new island will start. Please see attached pics, the walkway gap is 70cm then it opens up to 120cm.

So your question I assume is ...... what do you think?

I would rearrange the layout, It's even narrower than 70 at its minimum.

Can you post a pic of the room with measurements and what units you have that need to go in.

And post your proposed plan.

Okay..... I've been having fun! I've attached the links below for some ideas but my best advice is go onto www.notonthehighstreet and look at their cushions and bedding etc. A theme would be good. Is there something they both like such as animals or circus or are you looking for something for them to grow with? What colours do they like? Is your boy extremely boyish (no pink mum!), is your girl fussy or strongminded? (my 2 year old is!)If you can find one thing that you really like and they both do too then it gives us a starting point. I'm thinking along the lines of plain bedding, a matching cushion on each bed in bright multicolours or an animal and then another cushion and throws to blend with the feature cushion. Artwork could be their names in letters (hobbycraft do brown ones that you can paint) or maybe even wall decals. I'd paint white the TV wall in oder to make it visually higher and to hide the white color of the door, now the dark color under lines that it is rather low and different from two main doors color and height of third one. I like brown FP wall, it works good with sofas and will attract eyes visually raising the ceiling above TV furniture. And one more thing I'd think about: the 1-st photo shows that there are too much unconnected different heights (doors, mirror, TV furniture, FP wall, ceiling). Definitely some heights are needed to be connected. I'd put lower the mirror and the shelf above FP so that the TV furniture and the mirror up lines were the same height. To bring more colors into the room as it was mentioned above I'd pick up some colors from the art work for cushions and curtains.

I Think Cabinet is the best option for using your space in the best way. But you also have to keep in mind that you have some free space. Else you will not enjoy coking. thank you very much.

I can’t really see the size of the room from the pictures but is it possible to turn the island 90 degrees facing the other way?

Cant see the whole room but I would advise turning the island around or moving it to add another 30cm a metre is the smallest walkway in my view

So it looks to me that the 70cm area is ‘just’ a pinch point in an otherwise 120cm walkway ? It very much depends on quite a few variables wether this is acceptable or not - so - to save me going into a vast Q&A session on here with you ... just give me a call during office hours and I’ll happily chat it through with you.

Sorry everyone I've only just seen the comments. If I will take some photos after work. I can't move it round as I want a clear walk way through the kitchen from the hall. As Oneplan said it is a pinch point, it then opens to 120cm space around the Island and outer units. To be honest I thought it might keep people from invading my cooking space by being slightly tighter. Thanks Karen, for the offer of a chat, I will take you up on that if you dont mind.
