Windows Home Decorating Design Dilemma

Gable window blind advice.

I need blinds for this window, but don't know how they will hang, I don't really need them to fully cover the window length wise but I need to be able to drop them in late afternoon because of sunshine.

What color are the walls? Green, beige, gray? What color are the floors and couches? Is the rug staying? What style of artwork will you be putting up? Color, black and white, family pics, large or small? All this info would make it infinitly easier to make suggestions. : )

Hi, It looks like you have two tilt and turn windows on either side. This restricts a lot of treatments if you want to keep the space open for furniture or window seat..etc. You could put pre-tensioned pleated blinds on each glazed section. These can be operated top down or bottom up. The problem with pleated blinds is that they are very functional but they will not dress the window very well, but perfect for privacy and heat and light control. Kind Regards Anita

Hi Neerb We currently stock both and there are a couple of things to consider when purchasing.To brake the above down: wooden - more expensive looking less cords but may warp in sunlight Wood may warp but this depends on two main factors, the type of wood used and the humidity in the room. Wood Venetians are mainly manufactured from Bass Wood or Sheerwood. We have been supplying bass and sheer for nearly 10 years now and have yet to have a complaint. There is a cheaper alternative which is raman wood and in my opinion, it is cheaper for a reason, one being it tends to warp quite easily.I don't understand why there are less cords though! Wood will also discolor over time. faux wood - no warping and more durable against sun ( house is south facing ) yet quite plastic look and feel With the faux, it is slowly overtaking wood in terms of sales. This is because alot of homes can suffer from either moisture build up around the windows or high temperatures. Again, depending on the manufacturer, some of them do look quite plastic. Shop around and see what you prefer, but price wise, they should be around the same money. If we can offer any advice please let us know, Regards Dave
