What color are the walls? Green, beige, gray? What color are the floors and couches? Is the rug staying? What style of artwork will you be putting up? Color, black and white, family pics, large or small? All this info would make it infinitly easier to make suggestions. : )

Thank you for your suggestion....one option that I had considered was something like the below - having double curtains (one voile,and one heavy curtain). Do you think that this could work in my space? Also, just to note, the curtain pole (and everything else in the room will be going, as this is the previous owners furniture), so I am not restricted to the curtain pole that is currently in the original picture. Hi all, We are trying to get blinds for our house, I like the dark brown wood effect ones but everyone is saying it would make the room very dark. But I don't know, and I like dark but don't want to go overboard either. The kitchen cabinets are black/dark grey. Also, would white or cream blinds not look odd with brown Windows? Any advice much appreciated, pic of the kitchen attached. Thanks! Pauline
