Your curtain pole does already extend either side of the window so one option is to have floor length curtains with tie-backs (to keep them away from the window) for 'dressing'. In addition you could have a voile roman blind or floor length voile curtains behind the 'dressing' curtains for privacy. Alternatively, you could just go for floor length voile curtains if you are not worried about blocking out light.

Thank you for your suggestion....one option that I had considered was something like the below - having double curtains (one voile,and one heavy curtain). Do you think that this could work in my space?

Also, just to note, the curtain pole (and everything else in the room will be going, as this is the previous owners furniture), so I am not restricted to the curtain pole that is currently in the original picture.

Yes, I do think that would work. That is basically one of the options I was suggesting. There are many different curtain styles to choose from; for a bit of extra luxe I love curtains that 'puddle'.

You're right about the 'puddling' - I like that look. Would you have any recommendations as to where I could purchase the voile online?
