What is your opinion on the layout below?
Any positives and negatives welcome.
Main concerns for me:
Is there any better options in terms of re-positioning the bathroom and utility?
Is the additional hallway (to the utility and wc) going to seem out of place or not a good idea?

Kitchen cabinet layout - need help deciding!

Comments (0)We are in the process of buying this house and ive ideas of how to make it work best for our young family but it would be great to get some thoughts on my proposed layout. Any advice would be hugely appreciated. On the right we are thinking of making the drawing room smaller, adding a wall and creating a pantry which can be accessed through the utility room. On the left we are thinking of adding a wall to the dining room to make half the room an office and the rest of the space a boot room. The w/c is tiny and under the stairs with steps down so this needs to change. I was considering adding a w/c when you come in on the right of the door as the 'studio' is just dead space - pic attached. In the kitchen I'm also considering knocking the wall to the living room to make this more open plan and potentially doing a v small extension off the kitchen for a playroom that would lead out to the garden. My two boys are under three so I want the playroom to be as near the kitchen as possible. Excuse my very simplistic drawing - hopefully it explains what I'm trying to articulate. Yes i need to plan the bathroom better. The problem I have is there is a window at the end of the bathroom and therefore need to figure out best positioning of the shower (maybe better to make it a wet room as the shower will never get used and is a backup for the future).
The gap between the island and the cabinets is flexible. So was thinking 90-100 cm.
Yes I was thinking a corner sofa will be better. So your suggesting the TV on the wall which divides the front reception room?
The old dining room will become the kids play/tv room for my two younger boys who can have their own space when they have their friends around growing up (and more importantly store their toys in one room as opposed to the whole downstairs!)

4 years agoNew floor plan layout put together by the architect (ignore the furniture layout). Any changes before it is finalised?
